My old course in TN used a machine that put slits in instead of punched holes and that was wonderful.

@Tom the Golf Nut would the slit-type cuts be more like a verticut or deeper?

Like a verticut but deeper. The verticut only goes  1/8” deep.

Current club in NC is still in the 80’s. They alternate between the big plugs and the small ones. This time big next time small and so on. They tried the dry jet method last year and it wasn’t good.  It’s the closest course so I deal with it.

Those "slits" are called verticutting and are valuable to cut the tips off the grass I would think on bent grass better than poa but they do verticut here on poa grass as well.

@Dead Solid Bogey thank you for the warm welcomes! I am equipped with my salt rock! Picked that puppy up during a shoot out at the salt flats east of Twenty Nine Palms earlier this year. What up @shady 101! When and where we playing next? @GolfSpy SAM has hooked up the club building for my new Maltby TS1 IM’s irons. It’s time to break them in! My only question is, who’s coming with me?!?

Hey all!

Forum newcomer @injectedcutty just broke 70!

He posted this on the How Did You Play thread:

Was able to get out this morning and play my "home course" from my high school golf days. My 2 best ever rounds were at this course, until today. Obviously it helps I've been playing here for 30 years and know all the breaks, good spots, etc. However, we've had alot of rain in Louisville and it was soggy, and a cart path only day.

Anyways, I had all cylinders firing, was switching between a left dash ProV1x and Tour B RX, and officially fired of a -3 68, my lowest ever round, and first ever time in the 60's!!!!!!!! I'm 40, been playing since I was a kid and could never break 70. When I say the shot scope has helped I'm not joking. Being able to track my data the last year has been a real game changer! That being said, I'm sure next time I play I'll probably shoot a 90 or some s*** lol! That's it for now, y'all have a great day. I'm gonna bask in my glory haha!20240508_111433.jpg.5c43cf437727598429f5a20a5b3baff4.jpg

Division I women's golf regionals taking place this week at six sites; top five teams at each site advance to the national tournament. Nobody streaming them, unfortunately, but you can follow scores at Golfstat.

All six regionals conclude today, and they're all finished or nearly so.

at Auburn: Auburn, Oregon, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tulsa advance,

at Michigan State: USC, Oklahoma State, Michigan State, Northwestern and Pepperdine advance.

at Wake Forest: Ole Miss, Texas, Wake, Mississippi State and Oregon State advance.

at Texas A&M: LSU, SMU, Clemson, Vanderbilt and Texas A&M advance.

at Las Vegas (almost complete): Arkansas, Purdue, Baylor, Florida State and UCLA are in position to advance; Arizona could get into the top five with a late charge.

at Washington (still in progress): Stanford, Duke, Virginia, Arizona State and San Jose State are in position to advance. Kansas would have to make up seven shots on the back nine.

UPDATE: Arizona is now tied with Florida State in Vegas and UCLA is odd team out, but only one shot back. If there's a tie for that fifth spot, it will be broken. I believe the first tiebreaker is lowest score of the rounds that were thrown out (each team counts four of its five scores every day).

Arizona dropped back out of the top 5, three shots behind FSU which has finished. All five schools that will advance at Washington have already finished, nobody else within range.
