I am posting the initial virtual round in the VCT. As mentioned in the recap, we are now accepting virtual rounds in the VCT. 

I played Harbor Town virtually at the Top Tracer Range, I was 7 over after 12 holes when I caught fire and rattled off 5 birdies in a row and a par to finish 2 over 73. Not a bad virtual round at all.

Probably the last round this year outdoors, before I move indoors.  Weather cool, (6-9* C or 42-45*F), windy, yet sunny. Played really well with 3 quick birdies. Short game and putter saved me numerous times and finished 1 over and one of my best rounds this year, so very pleased. A few days earlier on the same course, my putter or maybe I should say operator went missing in action and shot 82

Played this afternoon, 50 degrees and very windy.

Picture below of the same hole Jamie @GolfSpy_APH posted at the top, shows many less leaves on the trees a week later.

Hit 11 of 14 fairways, 13 of 18 greens, and had 2 natural birdies along with a pair of double bogies due to OB left tee shots on the back 9.

What a shocking turn of events! I’ve been banged up for 3 weeks. During that time I have had 5 times that I either got to the course or didn’t finish the round, and a couple of times I didn’t even go. I finally went Wednesday and didn’t have much pain, but I also didn’t have any leg strength. Honestly, I didn’t have much today but I’ve been doing exercises the last few days and gaining it back. 

This morning we were the last tee times before a tournament and only six players so we all went off together as a six-some and since all the others were playing the forward tees, I got to move up. Of course this lowered my handicap by 5 strokes but as I told them, when you shoot 15 over, those 5 strokes done matter. I shot 96 on Wednesday and 88 on Friday. I really didn’t think it would matter today. Expectations were low. A perfect drive on #1 had me excited, but a near whiff on the approach shot brought me to reality. 

But then I settled down and focused. I didn’t all hit great shots and was still considerably shorter than normal but hit the ball fairly well and was drastically better than the past few weeks.

Today I seemed to fight through the trigger finger and return to a more favorable golf game.  That included wind speeds consistently at 25 mph with gusts to 30 mph.  I got back to my "normal" type of statistics:  70+% fairways hit, 6% greens hit in regulation and 5 up and downs.  It could have been better as I lipped out a few putts along the way.   

With a couple of better chips and putts, I'd be in the low 80's.  

The highlight of the round was the 18th, our longest par five.  Today, as it's been for the last two weeks, was into a sever 25 plus mph headwind.  I split the fairway with my drive.  I followed that up with a strong 3 wood and 5 wood leaving me 65 yards out.  I hit a full gap wedge (typically 80 yards) within a foot of the pin.  Good thing as my teammates were all putting for triples and we only count one score!

Things appear to be moving in a better direction.  My iron lesson two weeks ago appears to be reaping some benefits with better iron play.  I have a doctor's appointment to look at the trigger finger and the wind is finally suppose to start to die down in the next few days.   I'm keeping my non-trigger fingers crossed!

Anniversary memberships are being sold @ $400 for 2 years!!  I figure that only playing 20 rounds/year makes it $10/round (walking) & $28 (riding). Normal daily green fees are $45-$60, so well worth the investment.

Tough start double bogey was due to nerves, unfamiliarity, and a brisk cool Fall breeze. Fortunately, both the weather & the player warmed-up nicely as the round progressed....43/34  Putting was extremely average (for me) but short game highlights include jarring a 30-yard pitch shot.

Forecast looks favorable for one last season-ending round next weekend....mostly sunny with 50s for highs

Disappointing round of 90 when I had made the turn at +5 (with a birdie and 3 pars on the front).

The back nine I effectively collapse, with a double bogey on a short par 3, and a double par on the par-5 18th.

The revised putter continues to perform well, as I don't have to subconsciously fight the clubface closing due to the old setup.
