After a big week of hitting golf balls last week, I had two days of rest and I'm back with another men's league round.  Overall, I'm feeling more comfortable with the Paradym X irons.  I doubled my meager green in regulation (four versus my typical two a round), my iron layups were dead on and I'm starting to dial in the distances better.  

I putted OK.  The 33 putts is higher than normal, but my misses were all very close to the cup.  My average first putt distance was 17 feet and my total distance of putts made was 47 feet (an average of just over 2.5 feet per hole).  With time those longer putts will start to fall.  The only fairway I missed was on the first hole.  

Overall, I was somewhat pleased with my game today.  I seem to be breaking out of my "Spring Slump."  I'm hoping it will keep up moving in the right direction as I have three more rounds and a scramble event on Sunday (Mother's Day for those who may not know...public service post).

Too much family and kids school happening last week to get out and play, but got a few hours in on practice at least.  Only got 4 greens in regulation on the front 9 but got up and down on the other 5, playing the front even.  With the exception of the chunky wedge I hit on 10 to get a bogey my short/approach game from about 80 yards in was considerably better than it has been in recent rounds.  9 pars on the front, then I start the back bogey, bogey..... # 11 is the most innocuous looking par 3, but it has my number every time I play.  My longest drive of the day and 1 natural birdie came on 18.  Handicap is moving in the right direction.  Hoping to be below a 10 index by June.

Played Rancho Murieta South course today and it was in okay shape due to the wet winter in California. The course had all of their sand traps damaged due to excessive rain so they are being played as Ground Under Repair. The greens were slow but in good shape. Overall the course is playable.

Played the South course at Rancho Murieta today for the second day in a row. Shot a 85 with only two double bogeys. Putted better today with only one 3 putt. Still two more days of Northern California golf.

Played well for 17 holes.  Hit 11 greens and 9 fairways.  Missed two birdie putts inside 8 feet and had 35 putts.  Tripled the #1 handicap hole as I pulled an 8 iron from 155 left of a green side bunker.  Pitched into the bunker and 3 sand shots later, sunk my only 1 putt  for a 7.  It was a case of coulda, woulda, shoulda.  Missed out on shooting 75 with those missed birdie putts and the poor play on the one hole.

I saw a 1 foot long snake in the leaves the other day and eeked like a cartoon character. You're over there playing in a gator nursery, lol.

Bad day…..started out with my Shot scope X5 watch had no juice. I put it in my golf bag on Monday at 100% then turned it off. I guess the side buttOn must have gotten pushed when I put it in my golfbag. Driver was terrific today, straight and long. Several holes I used the 5 iron which worked great. My problem was the putter. Nothing I did allowed me to putt today. I guess it was just one of those days……

I was in a bike crash Saturday, so I'm rather sore, and not turning freely, so this was not a good round. At least I hit some good shots. In addition, they punched and sanded the greens recently, and they were awful to putt. It was a lousy circumstance to have my first on-course use of the Garsen grip I'm reviewing.

That is the perfect round all pars! I have never had a perfect round. Great job!!!

First time playing Valley Hi golf course. The greens were very fast and the wind was blowing between 10 to 15 MPH. The course is in good shape and I would play it again.

One par all day with some epic meltdown holes.  Awesome sunny cool/warm weather and very well prepared course.  Fast greens with mostly two-putts, two three-putts and 3 one-putts.  Finished the front 9 with 52 and thought "ok now it is time to see how far under 52 the back 9 will be."  Silly me, back 9 meltdown on 16 with tee shot in water, tee shot in tree, chunked second shot, chunked 3rd shot, a good shot to get on the green and a couple putts - but on the good side I got 2 pars for one hole!

No pars, about equal number singles and doubles.  Good social game day with plenty of conversation to make up for the missed shots.  No one-putts so not really a day that gets me energized but no meltdowns either.  Best drive of the day was the first one.

Unexpectedly got to play a round yesterday! Shot my best gross score yet, as well as my lowest 9 hole score of 43. Only two double bogeys in the front 9, with 2 pars and a birdie! Back 9 I had a couple of rough holes that I got 8s and one 7, but the rest were bogey or better, with 3 pars! Getting a birdie on the Handicap 1 hole was really satisfying. It was a decently paced round, but with people in front of me, I decided to pull out my tripod and record my shots. I'll probably have a video of every shot from hole 3 onward edited sometime this weekend, though know that my camera placement was not good initially and I know what to do next time now lol.

When things are clicking they really are fun. 

Driver was essentially on autopilot and although I didn't hit every fairway not one drive was in a bad spot and in most cases if I missed the fairway it was because I went too long and through the fairway. 

Still a round of what could have been. We were first out and because they were still cutting the greens about half of them werent cut so still had dew on them. 4 of the greens they didnt even have the flags in so we were just firing at what we though was middle and got burned a couple times. 

Approach game was so so, not good, not great but jsut okay. 

Made 2 sand saves and was in 4 bunkers on the back. None on the front. 

Finally got through 15 holes and their was a championship starting on 16 through 18 then onto the championship 6 hole course so we managed to be 2.5 hours to get to 16 and a hour plus for the last 3 holes which just killed all momentum and went bogey par par.
