I just want to take a moment to wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving. Whether you are celebrating with friends, family, or keeping it low key, I hope it's a good one. If you're traveling, I wish you safety. I'm thankful to have this forum of like minded individuals to call my Internet home.

We'll be celebrating with friends today, I'm positive it'll be a great time hanging out with them.

I spent 50 years traveling 300 miles for every Thanksgiving to be with my mom and dad.  That ended 4 years ago.  I don't miss the travel on bad roads, but I do miss mom and dad.  Be thankful for the time you have with family and friends on the holidays!!

I am absolutely stuffed, we had a dinner of ham, prime rib, broccoli casserole, green bean casserole, mashed potatoes, dressing, and rolls. It was amazing!

 

Now I want a nap.

Hamilton, Ohio, just north of Cincinnati, recreated the turkey drop this week. However, they used rubber ducks dressed as turkeys, sold them for $10 ea, and dropped them on a target as a charity event.

heart is full, and so is my belly!

had a wonderful day with all my family here. we hosted this year and cooked 2 birds.  traditional and smoked.  smoked was done bullfrog style.  came out so juicy too!

Thanks for the picture. I never heard of bullfrog style. My mind was working hard on that one. Probably should of just kept scrolling quicker.

Im stuffed but looking at that I’m hungry again.

I'll never smoke a chicken or turkey any other way again.   easier than spatchcocking too.  slice under the breast, but over the legs, flip over, and squash the backbone down.

So incredibly grateful for this community. It's late, I'm full (of food and good bourbon), and feeling very blessed - but specifically wanted to thank you all for an incredible year. You've made every day a little easier, happier and helped remind me of how lucky I am to be part of such an awesome community. 

Here's to an amazing Holiday season and can't wait to see what 2024 brings for you all individually and to us as a forum.
