Recently upgraded my driver from a Ping400 to a Callaway Rogue. While the Ping had served me well in the time I owned it, the Rogue blew it out of the water in terms of distance and forgiveness for me.

Found a shaft at play it again sports that made me finally put this club back in the bag. I’ve had the head forever but once my tempo slowed down I could never get it off the ground. I don’t know if it has a forever place in the bag but it is definitely fun to hit.

Same here…Once I learned where to set it up at address due to the longer toe to heel length it became a really fun club to swing.  It’s super consistent…

So I haven’t bought this but, a coworker and I were discussing my new found love of teeing off with my 4 iron on certain holes that I really just need to be in the fairway. Sometimes I wish that I had a bit more distance of course which is where this bit comes in. He brought in a Mizuno MP-18 2 iron to take out and play a round with. At first I told him that there is no way I’ll be able to hit that consistently. He told me to try it anyways so I brought it home today and will hopefully get a few swings with it this weekend. I don’t have any real expectations but I am intrigued.

She's a beaut, Clark! Like you, I also hit a 4 crossover as my fairway finder. I've been strongly considering picking up a 2 iron lately just to see if I can even hit one! You'll have to let me know how it goes.

I will definitely give it a fair shot and post some feedback. The face of the 2 iron is smaller than my 4 iron but the 2 iron has about the same width of sole so I am hopeful that I’ll be able to make some contact. It’s the consistent, solid contact that worries me.

I’m not sure how many folks are familiar with LPGA golfer Jane Park. She and her husband Pete Godfrey, LPGA caddie, have a daughter, Grace. While Jane was playing in a tournament, Grace became ill. Because of the illness Grace developed epilepsy. Golf4her created a Grace hat to raise money and awareness for the Epilepsy Foundation and the Golf4her Saving Grace Foundation. The hat was being sold at the Dow Great Lakes Invitational in Michigan. Jane teamed up with Paula Creamer to play in the tournament. Golf4her put the hat for sale on their online store. As a parent this really struck me.

Well I didn't actually buy this but rather "appropriated" it from my wife.  She was playing in a member guest day event yesterday, and their giveaway was this water/coffee bottle blue tooth speaker combo. She's not a music fan - but I do enjoy it especially when I'm golfing by myself. FYI she thought it was funny that I just took it without asking her.

The U505 with the Tensei 1K black really has been nice.  It’s a very predictable and reliable ball flight.  I chose the Tensei 1K because I’ve enjoyed that lineup and while the white was my first choice but unavailable, the black plays very similar.  Notable differences are the cosmetics…it’s a matte finish compared to the shiny white 1K.  Both have XLink tech and both have a similar feel.  I say similar, not exact.  The black is a little more sturdy and doesn’t have the softer feel I am used to with the white.  It’s not abrasive by any means, just that I don’t get that extra oomph that I feel with its cousin.

Bought one off the shelf vokey 58. Ordered a 48 and 54 vokey. Sad the 54 was delayed and not delivered yesterday. Excited to hit it this coming up week.

Okay kids… Change of plans with this “experiment”.

I wasn’t quite sold on the idea of getting the Halo Launcher 5 iron, so I took a 30 mile drive today with my friend to the nearest PXG fitter and hit the Gen5 XF and the 0211 25* hybrids.

He recommended I go with the 0211 as my numbers were almost identical between the two, it was $50 cheaper, and I didn’t need the adjustability on the XF.

I got a 10% Locals Discount (that’s a big thing down here) so it only ended up costing me $107. I made a quick call to TGW, and when they said they would be able to cancel the Cleveland 5 iron, it was a done deal.

My buddy also bought the 0211 4 and 5 hybrids today. He put things in perspective when I was deciding what to do. He told me “when you can get a new PXG hybrid for under $110, don’t over think it.”

Hi, went through a full bag fitting at Club Champion.  Recommendation was to change; Fairway Wood, three Hybrids, and four Irons.  On 7-28-23 received the new clubs.  On 8-1-23 my first hole in one with new Hybrid!

The fitting experience was very good.  Though hitting off the mat did not give me a true carry distance and may have exaggerated my natural draw.  I have played three rounds with the new clubs.  Ball flight is a much higher trajectory.  I’m having trouble following the ball with my 74 year old eyes.  I was used to watching my line drives!

Had a strange bout with my golf shoes as of late. I've been using the Adidas CodeChaos 21s since 2021. Loved the heck out of em and wore em out till the sole was peeling. Was excited to find my local Adidas outlet had them early this year half price at $75. Score! Or so I thought... I'm not sure what's different between the ones I wore for a full season + and these, but I got foot pain and a hot spot on the ball of my foot. After only 2 months in them, I couldn't take it and picked up the new FootJoy Hyperflex shoes. Much improved, no more foot pain or hot spots, and should be ready for my tournament at Ballyneal this week!

Just received my Mizuno S23 52° /10° bounce S grind and 58° / 12° bounce D grind wedges.

I ordered them through golf galaxy.  It took 2 months for the 52° wedge and 3 months for the 58° wedge to get to me. They said it was because I had them flattened 2° flat. Also, because I had them modified I couldn't order them together, I had to submit two separate orders. It would have been nice to know this ahead of time.  I could have had them adjusted locally for about $10 each and received them a 5 or 6 weeks earlier. They sent updates with estimated delivery dates a month in the past. Sorry about the rant but its been frustrating.

On vacay in Southern Indiana for my Granddaughter’s First Birthday and we were strolling through a Peddler’s Mall when I saw some clubs. After about an hour, this was the first set I saw. Jack Nicklaus XP/70 Registered irons #2 - #9 in pristine condition. The shafts and grips are all original. Funny thing about the shafts…….they are Mac Gregor Tours and they are aluminum! Plan on going to the range then maybe playing a round or two with them. They are very similar to the Nicklaus Muirfields I played in the ‘80’s and ‘90’s.  BTW, I only paid $75 for them.  See attached….

Yup! Aluminum……in the 60’s….only drawback was they got brittle and broke in the cold weather. Lighter than steel….The set I found was definitely taken care of. The original grips are leather wraps and in pristine condition.
