I'm just sitting here watching The Last Of Us when I get a call from a Fort Myers area code asking if I was a taxi driver. I don't think they'd want to pay the mileage for me driving from Southeast Tennessee to there. 

Who knows? Might be worth it to replace my wedges and driver.

My wife and I are really enjoying The Last of Us.  The show reminds me of a cross between The Mandalorian and The Walking Dead.

I'm loving it so far, I think they've done an amazing job crafting a wonderful story. I know the game had rave reviews for the story, so they have something to use as a template. I can't wait for the next episode to drop so I can watch it Monday.

A few of my former work colleagues, who do not play golf, were taking some pot shots at me in a recent email that had nothing to do with golf... but I somehow managed to serve up the slow, hanging softball.  One shared this YT clip of Robin Williams description of the game.  Thought some might enjoy a laugh.

The word was he was illegally parked way to close to the green on steep hill.

To all you vets who depend on the VA for services...

I have a renewed and deepened appreciation for what you have to go through...

I already knew the VA is a big, sprawling, sometimes less than 100% efficient bureaucracy but...

So there's a fairly large VAMC not too far from me, and they have a fun little 9 hole golf course where I used to play a bunch. Ended up volunteering there for several seasons .. then I decided I wanted to do a something more for vets directly... 

.. gonna cut out a lotta details to this story but that was 3+ years ago... 

.. finally reconnected, post COVID shutdown, with the Voluntary Services coordinator...

..she emails me how to get started applying...

..the email has 14 - that is not a typo - FOURTEEN attachments of forms to print, fill out, return...

Just remember, somebody somewhere at some time made it necessary for every one of those forms.  You can thank the people who want to get over on the government (that means on every one of us since our government is of the people, by the people and for the people) and their legal efforts made it necessary to be very specific what is permissible and what is not.  We will never know who those people are or were but they are all those kinds of people we maintain a strong military and intelligence community to defend against when they are not home grown.

Where to start... .  Demo day at Granite Falls South yesterday and I just cannot help myself.  I've been to all four such events since we moved here in September.  Not w/o purpose however as I've now completed my irons review having finally hit the G430's.  I was not very impressed with their performance and kind of meh on looks.  The i230's however were very nice and competed well with the Cobra ForgeTec X which has the #1 spot right now.  The Cobra guys now know me by name and still can't believe I walked away from the first demo after picking up 10 yards on my ZX5's .  I also had a chance to hit the Paradym's with the Recoil Dart shafts.  That set-up really surprised - particularly tight dispersion.

I also had a chance to hit the Tour Edge 723 drivers (C&E).  I did not get any numbers as their LM was in use for a fitting but both had great feel and sound.  Anyone shopping for drivers should give these a look.

Just got the "final" final word, and I am in fact being assigned to Wright-Patterson Air Force Base.  Dayton, OH bound in July!

Took some time. That’s actually a flag I flew on one of my small attack boats, was able to snag it after flying it once. Had it folded and got it into that frame., two separate pieces, usually most of them come as one piece with the flag in it.

I have not but he’s an interesting character….

few issues though, was never an officer (they don’t let scoundrels like me do that) and second the things that would come up in folks smear campaigns on me would be devastating

Love it! We've moved so many times and it's so many years since those 'navy days' that I can't find anything but a few old photos of me in uniform.
