Way, way late to the thread today.. At the work site and had the alarm set for O’ Dark Thirty… That wasn’t early enough. I was awakened extremely early due to a third party contractor having  an issue keeping a wheeled motorized vehicle right side up. Driver was fine but did block the access road to the site. Just another branch added to the “ Cluster “ of a situation. Did check the forum at around 8:30 and at lunch. Seems that another positive and informative CC was enjoyed by all that made the call. Was really hoping that @sirchunksalot would have gotten the all is good from the medicos today. Hopefully that outcome is no more than a couple of days from now. 
  Getting  ready to crash for the night. Shoulder and fist are a tad sore as I have not done any shaking at the sky while “mentoring” crew members for quite awhile. Voice is a little hoarse also from attempting to occasionally influence an activity. 
   May this evening to a great starting point to making Friday an easy slide into the weekend.

American Airlines decide one of our bags wanted to hang out in Dallas for a bit longer. Apparently a pair of my jeans wanted to grab a bourbon with JR Ewing. As of 1:30AM the bag made it to Albany.

Good morning everyone!

It's a cool Friday morning with rain forecast for most of the day. I'm just sitting in my car working up the motivation to walk into work. 

I really enjoyed the community call yesterday with the founder of Ghost Golf. It's always good to get to see everyone on the weekly call. 

I'm planning on stopping at the store on the way home to pick up what I need to smoke a meatloaf and some cream cheese. I've never tried to smoke cream cheese, but I figured I might as well put something extra in there if I'm going to fire it up.

Good morning all!

Kids had a great day yesterday with music and ice skating with their cousin. Should be a quieter Friday for everyone. With the weather going back in the warm direction I am sure there will be some outside time coming up. Weekend has no major plans but I am sure we will find something to keep ourselves busy.

Good morning Spies on a clear TGIF morning here in the Motor City.

Supposed to get to mid 40's today, and then the mid 50's over the weekend, so signs of spring are not too far away.

In the work facility, need to get through a total of 5 inspections today, 3 of which should be fairly easy to figure out, but 2 that are a little more complex due to the condition they arrived back to us.

Weekend plans for me include Detroit Autorama, and I will post a link to some pictures once they are done.

Hope your day is the best it possibly can be, and that something enjoyable is in your plans.

Getting after it, again..  Started just a little past O’ Dark Thirty. Finding my rhythm of being back to the grind. Before I got to bed last night, the daylight bunch invited me to the a meal of mudbug and  shrimp Boudin and a mini MudBug boil. Enjoyed being able to eat adult food again… Ate at a table with three of the young ones. Their ages together didn’t equal mine. One of the “ youths “ without a social filter remarked that I was quite the hardass for such an old man. I like him, I am going to do my best to keep him around. Looking forward to a day of climbing,  testing, shaking my fist in the air, and exchanging verbiage about individuals parentage and supposed intelligence… Life is good, it is real good. 
    Heading into the weekend, may you all bend this Friday to your will.. For those that will have golf in their day, take a moment to think of the rest of us.

Wow there's an ..actual colorful dawn.. in the sky on this first TGIF of hey could it be turning from False Spring towards Real Spring..??

Had a great indoor clinic last night .. it was at an X Golf location which is quite the party place and are nationwide. Looking forward to the next 4 (Thurs eves).

Amongst their brand ambassadors are Max Homa (cool dude) and .. no kidding .. Paige Spirinac (nice T&A = Talent and Ability ).

They also had a nice IPA on tap which tasted pretty good afterwards

Well heck I'm going back for a little more shut-eye after another night of broken sleep...

Good morning to all , going to be a good day if we don’t rained out but beats the cold stuff . Pretty excited to hit the course armed with the new data from my putting fitter ( Edel test fit) , changed putter styles due to my gamer not suited to my stroke path ,anxiously waiting to get the test putter in my hands , could be a major handicap reducer ! I certainly hope everyone has a great Friday , an even better weekend and gets to hit some little round objects soon ! Took my wife (began playing at age 67) for a 9 hole executive round yesterday and we had a ball ! You’re never too old to catch this bug ! Be blessed , kind and safe y’all!

Bah humbug,  or whatever the phrase is that describes having to be at my primary job over a weekend.

My wife noticed last night that my pants were a little baggy in the back region. So I stepped on a scale.. down 6 lbs in a week. Must be from all the extra running around pushing golf carts out from the GC basement

Good morning spies and HAPPY FRIDAY!! Starting out the day at 33° on our way to a 53° sunshine filled Friday. Should be in the upper 60s to low 70s this weekend so I definitely need to get to a range or course. Just need to get through one more day of work this week.

Good morning MGSpies from a still below freezing WNY on this first day of March and first Friday of the month  work computer is getting onto the network for a no commute workday that is bookended by The Good Morning Thread here and PGA HOPE session 2 of 6 this evening after a drive that has a stop at the National Cemetery about the midway point for a stop to give thanks for service with Ghost Coins  really enjoyed leaning about Ghost Golf on the community call yesterday which uses the same term for spirit (watch the video). Now to go get the coffee dispensed   Hope golf is a part of your day!

It's been an eventful week. First few days in the 60s so got to play, then had two tornadoes in our area Wednesday morning. It was a crazy day in the newsroom between tracking the tornadoes, then getting data and covering the damage. I love what I do but days like that may be 8 hours on the clock, but physically are about 12. Since then it's 30s, so no golf. Hoping for a few hours to get to the range and golf with temperatures in the 50s and 60s the next few days.

Good Morning MGS Troops! Anyone else wake up super early before a match? I can never get a full night’s sleep before one.

I’m playing today on Pelican Lakes in Windsor CO with the VGA. It’s a great organization. Anyway I never seem to be able to sleep before a match. I need to find a way. Alas, I’ve already started my routine, sitting in the hot tub, loosening up these old back and leg muscles.

Then I drive the hour to the course and start my warm up. It looks like this.

Anyone else take this approach? Just kidding, I will hit a small bucket, practice wedges, and putt. It’s supposed to be windy again in wonderful Wyoming, but nice in Colorado.

One cuppa working its way into my system. It’s a cold sunny morning in CNY. I awoke to the sound of a car in my driveway at 6:30AM. American Airlines delivered my “delayed” bag. My Torrey Pines quarter zip is now home. It also contained the 2 bags coffee I purchased in California. Philz and Joshua Tree Coffee Company.

Good morning all. Last night I went and saw Brit Floyd, the endorsed by Pink Floyd band on the first leg of their 2024 tour.  It was a sonic and visual tour de force concert.  I’ve seen them before and knew they were very good, but last nights performance was phenomenal.  Excellent acoustics, tight and crisp, but it was the light, laser and visual effects that took it to the next level. Probably, one of the best concerts I’ve seen and experienced in many, many years.  If you closed your eyes and listened, you were transported back in time to a much simpler time. They were that good. If you like Pink Floyd or that genre of music, I would highly recommend seeing them.  Below are a couple of video clips as well as tour schedule.  Enjoy your day.

Oh, happy day!  Mother Nature (and my home course owner) have decided to allow the return of golf!  A longer break than usual between rounds (102 days) so no knowing how things will go.  Luckily I'll have a few buddies to keep track of the ball.  Hope y'all have a great day!

for those keeping track, tuesday i was wearing shorts and a tee shirt to the driving range, today i will wear a parka when i go outside, and by sunday i will be back in shorts and a tee shirt again. it is that kind of variety that keeps life interesting.

I feel your pain Rob , I was working my day yesterday and a new cart boy was just starting . It was almost comical how nervous this sixteen year old boy was about nothing . He was rattled somewhat by the man behind the pro desk and I took him outside and introduced myself and said let’s get started and I’ll show you the little bit I know about your job . Also , forget about the man behind the desk , his wife is in bad health and he’s been taking care of her and he is just in survival mode . Anyway , this was a very respectful and cordial young man come to find  out . I’ll have to say he give me inspiration and hope for the next generation! I’m getting back to the story , my apologies . I have lost weight as well and it probably has something to do with training these young men on the duties of “ picking the range , flipping carts and other miscellaneous things “, and of course the nicer weather is bringing out people with spring fever . Enough of my rambling , have a great day folks !

Top of the pot spies!   We drew 0652 and 0700 tee times at Granite Falls North this morning... a big shift from our typical 0900-1130 times this time of year.  Funny thing is that these will be considered late starts come July - Sept .  Spent part of yesterday getting things ready for company next week and I think "the boss" has run out of checklist items...

Good morning and TGIFF, Spies!!

It's been a really long week, at least it's felt like that. I have no idea why either. Just did.

It's cold and rainy here today. Which sucks as my new laundry room cabinets are at the HD for pick up. But having an open trailer, not going to be able to get them yet. Hopefully tomorrow as it's supposed to be 60* and just partly cloudy.

Hopefully today will be somewhat of a calmer day to round out the week.

Happy Friday!  We made it! Working until about lunch today and then taking one of the kids to the doctors office.  

...we might just have to run by the golf store on our way home after.  wouldn't feel right to just drive right by it without popping in!
