OUCH! Feel your pain! Get well.

Thanks. My ortho is thinking it is an inflamed ulnar nerve since their was no pain. Been fighting this for a long time and it is the first time that the numbness stayed for more than a few seconds. Rest and ice for a few days and if it still continues will get a shot in it. Hopefully there will continue to be no structural damage that will require surgery. Disappointing to say the least and really has been affecting my game this year.

Shot a +17 today. Struggled all day to hit my irons. Scrambled on the front for a decent score but 4 doubles on the back did me in (3 as a result of penalty strokes). I feel like my ball position is all messed up and I have been having issues striking the ball well.

My wife and I played at our club today and we were paired with another couple.  They were nice and played fairly well, a relief after the last few people were have been paired with!!  The guy had back surgery about a year ago, so he played from the white tees.  His wife played from the forward tees with my wife.  I played from the blue tees, my regular spot.  I played quite well; +4 on the front and +1 on the back for a 77.  This is a lot better than I have played the past few days.  I have a hunch that the next GHIN revision on June 1, I might break into the 8's for the first time.

Played 36 this weekend. Saturday was the typical struggles. Had a good chance to break 90, but on 16 screwed up hitting the flag with my laser. Instead hit a tree behind it and hit an 8 iron all of 160, over the green off the back bank and across the next tee box. That lead to a comedy of disasters which lead to a 92. 16 and 17 are trouble holes for me the last few times around.

 

Today I played the back 9 first. Ended up shooting 44, including bogeying my nemesis holes. On the front I had two doubles and a bunch of pars. I really started playing well and hitting some good irons. Best part was playing only one ball the entire 18. Only downside was my putting is still a bit off. Can't quite figure it out, but feel like I'm getting a bit better.

Shot a 39 this morning that included 2 drops. Both of those lost balls were into greens where you could only see the tip of the flag, both shots were right at the flag as far as I could tell and then when I got up there there was no ball to be found. Maybe my range finder hit the wrong target? Super annoying to have a really good 9 holes that could have been an amazing 9 holes.

It really is. I think I would have just the range instead. I hit the grill room because a one of storms came in while I was warming up. No golf for me today.

I hear ya. My buddy and I played 9 holes last night at 6:30 pm. It took us 3 hours to get through it because they let a 6some out in front of us...... none of which could play at all. Absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable.

Chamber of Commerce day on the course this am.  Perfect weather, low humidity, mid-80s, slight breeze.  Memorial day, so very little play on the course.  We saw NO ONE, before or after us, the whole round.  Shot a 42/42 84.  Ball striking was good, putting was very good after the first 5 holes as I incorporated the changes from my first ever putting lesson last Friday.  Still have the 3 or 4 holes of swing fart double bogies, but getting better.  HC revision coming tomorrow should be my lowest index in 15 years I'm guessing!

I shot 77 yesterday and on an absolutely gorgeous Memorial Day with American Flags on the pins, I shoot a 91. Nothing went right all day. It was awful... I don't want it to happen ever again!! But I know it will.

That seems like every round for me these days.

Sat & Sun rounds were in the low 90's and I realized it was my messed up ankle causing the problems so today I was running a 20 man tournament for Memorial Day......I put my ankle brace on and off I went. #1 double bogey, ugh.....then 4 pars! Finished the front nine with a 39. Then the wheels came off and nutted a 47 on the back.... But I did enjoy the front nine today! I hope all who played today we're thankful for those who lost their lives so we could have have the freedoms.

Played twice this weekend. Sun morning round was brutal. I was snap hooking driver and never felt right. Had one birdie that won a skin but shot a smooth 83 after back to back 74's.

 

Then today all was right again and everything felt good. Went 35-39 for my third 74 in 4 rounds.

 

Good news is that I'm playing great golf (for me) bad news is that handicap is coming way down going into singles and doubles match play

Weird, that my long woods & irons are the strongest part of my game but, of course that's about all I can really practice on in the winter.  It's the short game that's running hot & cold (mostly cold).

 

Example: drove to within 70 yards on a short par 4, 6 more strokes to get it in the hole

The short game is the first to go and the last to come back.  Another round and you will be back to normal.  Glad you are getting to play a little more!

Got rained out yesterday which was good since no shot I could play. Took my youngest to the golf shop to get some odds and ends. She likes the putting green and was not too happy when I told her we had to leave.

I heard that it was beautiful on your side of the state. We've transitioned into summer. Very humid with a pop up thunderstorm the last four afternoons. Not enough rain to effect play or course playability yet.

Well we are transitioning into summer as well.  In the 90's this week and 100-105 this weekend.  While lately that could be my golf score, the weather is the only thing that's getting hot around here!         But it's a dry heat!!

Yeah, good time of year around here.  Can you say 6 weeks of virtually perfect weather, one day of all day rain.   Only two pop up days so far.  Humidity thankfully absent so far.  Another CofC day forecast for tomorrow for my next round!

My 24 man Buddy Trip to Kissimmee is coming up next week...4 days of golf....I am hoping this weather stays put for now.

Another great weather day, we played offsite at another local country club 'cause Valley is closed for a few days for aeration.  Hiidden Hills had aerated a couple of weeks ago and unfortunately their greens haven't come back very good yet.  Putting was very problematic all day.  GIRs on first two holes and two three putts.  Then three holes of a swing fart, a bad layup choice and a chip chunk led to three consecutive doubles.  After that, next 13 holes four over par with two birdies.  Best ball-striking round of recent memory (even on the double bogie holes, the shots were well struck).  Ended up 45/39 84.  Very pleased, and was getting stronger at the end, with two birdies on last three holes.  Last hole, 371 yds, smoked the drive and caught fairway downslope, leaving a 100 little wedge.  Lessons are really working!

Playing like total "caca" right now - nowhere near what my handicap states. Truthfully haven't played much or as much as I'd like. Weather and other "commitments". Hopefully I can get back into game shape soon.

TPC Valley is still closed for aeration, so we played the Lagoon Course at Ponte Vedra Inn & Club (Yes, as hotsy-totsy as it sounds).  It's a par 70, older Florida style track in superb condition and it on the Ocean side of A1A and a lot more breezy that we're used to.  It's got a 565 yd par 5 that was into a two club wind today!  All that being said, my very uncharacteristic good ball striking continued today!  Had my very first ever 3 birdie day in 40 years of playing golf.  Ended up with an 82 including a double on the last hole where I just ran out of gas.  The windy conditions on a strange course cost me a few strokes but over all very pleased with the ball striking.  So, since I incorporated a swing tip on my backswing and a putting lesson at the same time, I've gone 84, 84 and 82, all of which could have been better.  Liking the trend right now.
