Popular Post Sluggo42
So I wake up and roll on over to Wailea Gold and Emerald courses, about 2 minutes from my hotel, the Grand Wailea of course. I first waited a few minutes for my rental clubs from “Jimmys club rentals” to show up. That set was a driver ,3 and 5 wood in TaylorMade M2’s, a 3-pw set of Mizuno MP100 irons (fancy mp 33’s), a few TM mill grind wedges (which I fell in love with) and an old Ping anser putter. $35 a day rental (delivered) and the clubs were in very nice condition, and swung very closely to my mp5’s. What’s not to like about that? so anyways, hit a small bucket on the range, although directly into the sun, and was ready to go. The Gold course was a bit harder, lots more sand, and the first day with the rental clubs, (excuses I know) but I didn’t score as well, and then day two was just a dream at Emerald. The pictures just don’t do it justice, but hopefully you get the gist of it all. No use posting a million shots, as it’s repetitive really. Everywhere you turned, it was just plain beautiful, and it seems the ocean was always in view. so without boring you to death, here’s a few pics of what it was like... enjoy! 9 2 Quote MavriK Sub Zero 9* on EvenFlow RipTide 6.0 50g Speedzone 3-wood on Tensi blue S F8 5/6 wood on Aldila NxT GEN MLT R P770 / P790 combo set on Ventus R-6 shafts 5-AW Combo iron set -8,9,per Icon 5,6,7 PtxPro 4-UiHi on Recoil 780 ES f4 Stiff shafts (second best clubs ever) Equalizer 50°, 54°, 60° wedges on Recoil 780 f4 E.A.S. #4 (“Fang” or “Adele”) ProV1x .Org 14 cart bag Adidas Tour 360 shoes

Lefty431
Handicap is trending down, I'm a 7.6 index officially, I've gotten close to par this year, with a 73 and yesterday a 74. I just can't seem to break through to the magical par.
Jmikecpa
Played day one of our annual President’s Cup and shot net and gross even par with my partner in a Pinehurst format. RickyBobby_PR
Never complain when I shoot low 80s especially with the zero practice thing going right now and playing infrequently. Swing is hit or miss as a result. Played a course where keeping the ball in front of you gives opportunities to keep the score low. Which helped. Has fun with an older couple despite the course being packed and waiting a lot. 4 Quote Driver: PXG 0811 X+ Proto w/UST Helium 5F4 Wood: TaylorMade M5 5W w/Accra TZ5 +1/2”, TaylorMade Sim 3W w/Aldila rogue white Hybrid: PXG Gen2 22* w/AD hybrid Irons: PXG Gen3 0311T w/Nippon modus 120 Wedges: TaylorMade MG2 50*, Tiger grind 56/60 Putter: Scotty Caemeron Super Rat1 Ball: Titleist Prov1
ward
I won my league championship today so I guess I played well. I was in the A flight group based on my regular season scores. I've never entered a league before until this season. A friend of mine invited me to join so I did. I shot a 77 for 18 holes (damn double bogies cost me 4 strokes. lol). After 14 weeks of league play with my season handicap index, I ended up with a net 68 overall. I won by two strokes over the second place finisher. I picked up two skins and a closest to the pin as well. Came home with some sweet prizes and a warm feeling. Maybe it was the shot of whiskey I celebrated with. I'm pretty happy with how I played today and feel like all my range work, quiet practice walks on the course in the evenings by myself and the patience I had on the course today paid off on the one day that mattered most to me this season. Cheers To All. I hope you have a great rest of the season. I can relax now. The pressure is off ! ~ ward ~ Edited September 29, 2019 by ward 5 1 Quote ~ ward ~ Driver: Callaway B21 9.5 Degrees. Kenny B
We had an 8am shotgun start this morning because the course had a 1pm shotgun tournament. Lucky for the tournament that the players this morning were die-hard regulars, and we all finished just under 4 hours. Temperature went from 75º yesterday to 45º, cloudy and it spit a little rain now and then today. My wife and I teed off on hole #6. Nice to start on a par 5. I wasn't warmed up yet, but still managed to get on the green in regulation. Not used to swinging a club with the extra clothes on. The driver was hit and miss all day, but my irons were the best they have been all year. Combined with decent putting, I managed an 80... one birdie and one double. 7 Quote “We don’t stop playing the game because we get old; we get old because we stop playing the game.”
PMookie
Ugh. Putting is killing me. 5 drives that “missed the fairway” were within 2 feet of hitting it, so it wasn’t an awful driving day. Big money
Played almost a dozen holes today before the rain arrived. Played with the same partner that had the ladies graphite shafted clubs. Today I was able to really see the difference. Accuracy was uncanny. But the loss of distance was very staggering. My normal 7 iron is 140. The ladies club would maybe go 125 at its best for me. It was a nice relief keeping the ball in play every swing. So really has me wondering now. I’m always teeing off from the senior tees as of late. So maybe the distance loss will be negated for gain in accuracy. After the round I discussed my swing woes with our pro. And he told me its my focus in my swing giving me fits. Which he summarized as being ‘’BALL BOUND’’. How to fix that is beyond me. But I did shoot 6 over for 12 holes which was a good round for me. Even though I used my partners sticks Edited September 29, 2019 by Big money 7 Quote Keep it in the short stuff
golfinnut
Tale of two nines. Birdie & eagle on front side, no bogeys -3. Back side ... well, I'm trying to forget about it actually. DriverBreaker
+5 77 (37/40) today with 33 putts and a missed 4 footer for birdie on 18. Hit the ball pretty well. Lots of wind today that cause some well-struck shots to come short. Greens were terrible. Very shaggy, lots of bumps, jumps, and some rings around the holes. Made putting very difficult. Overall happy with the ball striking. Only about three swings that were awful. tony@CIC
Another frustrating 95 yesterday. We had to start on the back because of an event - booked a 45 so I thought I stood a chance of breaking 90. Cra**py front included a triple on a Par 3 and Par 4 that cost me. Ended up with a 50 on the front. The tale of 2 nines Weather this week looks good til Friday , then a major cool down.
