Today is likely the most consistent day of golf I've had in a while.  The three guys I played with could all crush the ball past me off the tee.  I resolved that I'd maintain my swing and play my game....and it paid off!

Fairways hit was just over 71% with missed split evenly between right and left.  In each case, the misses were only about 2 feet from the fairway.  Greens in regulation were about double of what I typically get (11% to 22%).  Each resulted in a two putt par.  The positive sign again was about 60% approach shots short (an improvement for me).  

Four up and downs for pars was matched with five up and downs for bogeys.  That included hitting the mangroves on our par 3 eight hole, taking a drop and chipping it about 30 yards from the drop area to within 2 ft for bogey.  One birdie on the par 3 16th hole with a 6 ft. putt.  

My only bad shot was an unforced error on the 15th hole.  I split the fairway on my drive and had a simple 5 wood layup.  I went over the top into the water for a penalty that led to my only double.  

In the end, forgetting how far each of my playing partners their drives helped me stay within myself and play a very consistent round.

Played the Warm Springs Golf Course in Boise, Idaho this morning. The Course is in some transition due a new Club House being built. Fairways in great shape and the rough was very full. Greens putted smooth and true. One birdie today with only four GIR. Only 4 Fairways hit too. Putted well.

Started off with a decent round and the heat caught up and just made some simple mistakes.  Hit the new mini well but the irons were hit or miss.  Overall, I got my round in for the week and have another one scheduled for tomorrow.

New course today as nothing was open in my area. Took forever to get loose.  Started +5 through 4 then finally settled down a little. A +2 38 on the back helped the day after a +8 44 front.

first full round in alabama. beat the father in law by 8 strokes, and got a birdie on 17 to break a dry spell. best iron striking game in some time. driving was mediocre on the front, but excellent on the back. had a GIR on all four par threes, for maybe the first time ever. putter mostly let me down, but still a great day out.

Back to the home course as they opened it up today. Super wet still but playable. Took a bit to warm up this morning as well but this time it was the 50* temps. 42 front was due to still getting use to the sm10 wedge. 
 

38 on the back though with 3 birdies after starting the back +4 through 3.

The wind was brutal at the start of the match. We teed off around 2pm. Much later start then usual. I should have grabbed my snorkel and fins for the day in addition to my clubs. I found water on 6,7,12, & 15. I should have also grabbed my chainsaw as I was in the woods on 4,9, 13, 16, and 17. Oh I'm a lumberjack and I'm ok, I sleep all night and I work all day. Not a good performance today at all. I did putt reasonably well, if that's any consolation. One last thing...anybody have any tips for hitting out of bunkers that are more like concrete than sand? Asking for a friend, lol.

Not a bad round. Bogey golf is the target at this point, and that's exactly what I did. Still figuring out the top of my bag plus still working on my iron swing. My wedges and putter were far better today than the last few rounds.

Got a round in with dad on Friday and had I not hit one in the water on 3 and made a few more putts it would have been golden. Still pleased with how I played and I had way more laughs than strokes!

I FINALLY DID IT.... BROKE 80!!!! 

No penalties off the tee (or at all), no 3-putts, and no double bogeys

Solid day off the tee, only 1 hole where I didn't have a shot at the green

Had some great speed control on the greens

Here is a kicker .... I'm in middle of doing the testing for the Caddy Daddy Claw gloves and today was the first time using on the gloves on the course .... (check out the ongoing review)

I am really liking the mini driver and hitting it well. The irons failed me all day and it was just one of those scramble days. 

Here was the hole/shot of the day. 

Hole 13 - 4w with a small cut down the fairway to 125yds out. 50* to 2ft for easy birdie.

The best of a more consistent week, with all rounds in the 80s for a change. Tale of two days: this round, I had 33 putts, with two 3-putts and and five 1-putts. Today on the same course, I shot an 88 with 41 putts, with seven 3-putts and two 1-putts. Needless to say, today's round was frustrating and felt like a missed opportunity to go fairly low.

An enjoyable afternoon round, only slightly marred by 3 double bogeys. With the addition of the Ping G430 Max 10k my driving has gone from ? to a strength. My iron play today was decidedly average. Wedges were on-point and I had 32 putts, which isn't great but also isn't terrible. Aside from a narrowly avoided fist fight on 16 with the group in front of us, it was a very enjoyable round of golf.

Had to take last week off due to friend/family obligations and an ulnar nerve injury in my right arm.  Still can't do my normal interlocking grip, but it's healed enough to play with.

Did pretty well all things considered.  Lost a few balls, shanked a few, and wasn't having my best striking day, but played to my handicap.  Got some new shoes that I've played a few rounds with, but going to have to ditch them.  They're just a bit too big and my feet slip around in the box.  Doesn't lead to a confident swing.
