Who would've thought Aaron Rai would be my highest scoring player this week? After my claim for JB Holmes failed, there was only 5 players left to pick from. Eenie meenie minie Moe.

.5 points from an 0-9 finish to the year. I sure hope they are saving themselves for the playoffs!

Also never would have guess that after starting 7 over and 12 shots behind Matsuyama, Kisner would be the highest finisher for me. At least he didn’t give up.

Welp it definitely did implode haha

Rory fell to 4th missing t3 bonus and same for Fitz. Noren dropped to 12 missing the t10 bonus and Wallace missing t25 by a spot.

 

Barely enough to sneak by @bardlewho also had a good week. I was in need of that 4-0 finish.

At season setup, I thought playoffs were still 4 weeks so that's how I put the schedule together. Forgot to come back and fix it once I realized it was only 3 weeks. 

So what now? I got you fam. This week would've been random matchups so we're going to do a version of that with the chief goal to match you up against teams you've faced the least this year.... mini schedule balance. 

Example: If you've got 2 teams that you've only faced once, those are your matchups. If you've got 6 teams you've only played once, I'll throw those into the wheel to get your two matchups. As I move along, the choices will get fewer and fewer.  

 

Hope to get it locked in tonight or tomorrow morning.

Doesn’t this have to be the first week of the playoffs? How does a 16 team playoff work in 3 weeks? Not that I’m complaining, I could use the extra week to get my best player, Colin Morikawa, into the playoffs. Assuming he can’t pull out a barracuda win tonight.

The playoff bracket has been posted a few times in this thread that explains. Log into the mobile or desktop version of the forum and you'll see it pinned to the top of every page in this thread.

Alright, matchups are set for the final week of our regular season. It worked out almost perfectly that everyone is facing 2 people they've only played once. At the very end, there was about 4 matchups of guys that had played twice. I'd say the wheel of wisdom did a pretty good job. 

 

Although the 8 spots for Truth are set, there's still lots of playoffs scenarios at play for both divisions. @Berg Ryman is working on the rundown.

Well, leave it to your friendly neighborhood Ryman-Man to break it down for you! Friendly reminder, first tiebreaker among tied teams is total points, which are being factored into my analysis.

TRUTH

Alright, let's get the easy part out of the way @GB13 has been rolling this year and has locked up the top spot in Truth and the 20 point bonus that comes with it for the first playoff event. Now, the positions between 2-4 are held by Zero Sportsmanship, @DannyDips and @blackngold_blood. Zero Sportsmanship can't fall past the 3 seed, @blackngold_blood can't rise past the 3 seed , and @DannyDips could finish anywhere between 2-4. With the first tiebreaker being total points, any tie would fall to @DannyDipsadvantage over the other teams. So these four teams will be in some fashion your top 4 in Truth and receive the bonus points.

The non-point earners are also set in Truth as well. In fifth and sixth are yours truly and @asef. With a game between us it's paramount we both sweep this week to not drop a spot in the standings. I can fall no further than 6th, @asef could fall to 7th. Speaking of, in seventh is @cnosil. He will be either the 6 or 7 seed. Rounding out our field is @TSauer. He's 8th, will be 8th regardless.

DIGEST

As famed songstress Brittney Spears once said in her hit 'Womanizer', "You say I'm crazy, I got you crazy." The playoff picture for Digest has nothing on Ms. Spears. 

So far only @Undershooter and @GolfSpy Stroker have guaranteed themselves spots in Digest's top 4 for the playoffs. @Undershooter cannot fall out of the top 4 based on record and @GolfSpy Stroker can't fall out on tiebreakers. However, both need to win to keep there spots atop the division.

Then we get to the group of 4 occupying spots 3-6, @bardle @Bucky CC @Shankster and @poprocksncoke. With two games separating these 4, they have it all to play for. Now, @bardle could finish as high as 1st if the people in front of him slip up, @Bucky CC could finish as high as second. @Shankster and @poprocksncoke could sneak themselves into the top four, but are going to need some help from the division leaders to get there.

Now, the curious case of @MGoBlue100. He's currently seventh and can't really move up seeings as he trails @poprocksncoke by nearly 1000 total points. His danger comes from below because, as you're about to see, we've got a mad dash coming for that 8 spot. Basically anything less than 2-0 this week puts him in serious danger. A 1-1 record puts him on the bubble depending on what goes on behind him. Going 0-2, probably eliminates him from contention entirely

Alright, the race for 8. 8th is currently held by my co-commish @GolfSpy STUDque on the points tiebreaker over @mudfish lurking in 10th you have fellow mod @GolfSpy MPR and technically still alive @Camcmart in 11th. It basically breaks down like this @GolfSpy STUDque controls his own destiny. go 2-0 this week he's in at #8 at the least, depending on @MGoBlue100 he could rise to 7. For @mudfish, he needs to go 2-0 and get some help from @MGoBlue100. They are also separated by only 14.5 total points so if you're looking for action this is the one to watch. @GolfSpy MPR needs to go 2-0 and have the others above him lose at least once, probably twice to sneak into the 8th spot. Lastly, while @Camcmart technically could tie for the last spot, it seems nearly impossible for him to win any tiebreaker in this scenario.

OTHERS

Sadly, if you don't see your name, you're out of contention for a playoff spot. Doesn't mean you can't upset the applecart in some way in this final week. We hope you've had an enjoyable experience and hope you're chomping at the bit to come back next season and try to improve on this outing.

IN SUMMATION

Ok, I wasn't going to go into specific scenarios, but yours is so wild I feel the need to.

1) You must go 2-0 this week

2) Stud and Mudfish must go 0-2

3) MPR must go either 1-1 or 0-2

4) You need to make up at least 767.5 points between yourself and Stud to beat him on Tiebreakers as in this scenario he would still earn the 8 seed.

5) So you're aware, the highest score in the league this season was @asef at the Byron Nelson when he scored 273.5. You would need to score 383.75 accounting for Stud scoring zero points to tie him. 

So yeah, there's a chance, but it's literally the most unlikely chance of it happening.
