I don't believe Trump doomed anything. I do believe corporate sponsors doomed it because they are cowards and didn't want their name associated with Trump any longer. Let's suppose the course was owned by the Clinton Foundation. Now what do you think? Big Corp would be all over themselves to sponsor. But then again I guess the Clintons aren't polarizing like USA Today says Trump is. Yeah right!. Let's face it.... Big Corps (and the PGA for that matter) have become monkeys on the radical lefts chain. I wish some Big Corp like Remington, Winchester, or Nascar would take up the sponsorship at Doral. Then you'd really see the leftists freak. LOL

What I find interesting is that the move was a 7 year deal starting in 2017... 7 years, interesting.  I can only conclude that the PGA thinks that Trump is going to win and be in for 2 terms.  When his two terms are done then the PGA will move back to Miami.  How can you think anything different?

+1 on this, Free market people. Private organization choosing not to do business with another private organization because they couldn't find a sponsor. Blaming it on anybody else, but Trump Doral is a waste of time. What about the people you ask? Again private business. Without going too far into political ideologies, but as the presumtive nominee of a party that champions free market causes why complain about the exercise of such a freedom. 

 

Frankly I don't care the florida area lost one tournament, considering how many they have year in and year out. Though moving it outside of the US does make it closer to it really being the World Golf Championship,

Don't worry, I'm sure it didn't hurt Trump's feelings one bit.  I gurantee you the buyout was huge.  Why?  Because he's a smart business man.

The PGA are absolutely right - in that it's all about the money. Whether or not you want to believe it has anything to do with politics is pretty immaterial whilst in the meantime, most pros would probably tee it up in Syria if the bucks were on offer. Prize funds are on the up year on year despite the global economy being stagnant and if Trump really wanted to keep his tournament in Florida, then he only needs to open his wallet - which is rather tied up in political funding right now. Sorry Donald, you can't have your cake and eat it - unless of course you're a PGA pro, in which case you get a healthy pay increase without having to justify your choice to anyone.

I've never liked the course and less so since its redo. In the end it's about the money. I can't speak for the rest of the world but in this country if you are associated with someone involved in politics you've already lost 45 percent of your potential customer base.

 

I'm not a part of a political party because I would loose my effectiveness as a minister for some people. The only mentions of politics that you will get from me in my sermons are go vote and pray for your leaders.

 

It seems to me that it's smart business to go elsewhere with this tournament.
