Played in the rain most of the day from the tips in order to get more iron practice. That makes the course play much tougher than I am used to. Thank goodness for Foot Joy Rain Soft gloves. They were fantastic.

  They had WHS handicaps posted, so I'm using theirs over what The Grint had for the course.  Puts me at a CH of 48, and I needed every stroke and more.

 

Didn't do very well, had a few nice shots including a GIR on #2.   Wind was pretty strong and made for some things going off target, but not as bad as bad ball contact and poor choices.  Was a beautiful place to spend an afternoon!

This course was fairly difficult for being relatively flat.  Many shots over water, and you had to plan your approaches carefully.  Get behind the trees and you often didn't have a play except to take it 90° back to the fairway.

In the next photo is a tricky par 3.  It was only about 125 to the front, but wind was coming in from the left into your face a bit at about 2 clubs.  Neither I or my playing partner (Sean) got it to the green, but we also missed the water!  Ended up with a D-B, which is par for me!

Pulled it together for the most part on the back 9 and almost would have salvaged my card if I didn't put three balls in the water on #18.  However, third ball cleared the water and rolled back in off of a rock wall on the other side.  Only had a small strip of grass about 10" wide between the water and a bunker.  Uphill flop shot landed me about 15' past the hole.  My best (and only) successful flop shot!  Something to take away at the end of the game.

Then 4-putted...  Ah, golf.  Time for some Guinness.

Was able to get in a short round on a small executive close by. Overall, I definitely need to work more on my new Cobra irons - def the weakest part of my game at the moment.  

Check this, you put the wrong number in Gross Strokes over par.

Same mistake here I think, check this. I think you put the course par 71 in the spot for your Gross Strokes over par.

Finally got out to play and can’t believe I forgot to post this and one other round.  Not a good round but was still dealing with lingering back rib displacement issue.  Didn’t get any worse and actually was improved the next morning.  Drives were great though, 14/14 FIRs, but only 6 GIRs.  Iron accuracy wasn’t.  But five 1-putts, 31 putts and no 3putts.

This was the second round I forgot to post that I played on my 60 10th bday.  Drives were amazing - typically in the 230 range but on 2 consecutive holes drove 253 then 269.  Haven’t played this course since last summer and the greens can be tricky which I just don’t remember as well on other courses.  Not totally unhappy with 35 putts but had four 3 putts but had 4 up/downs.  Iron accuracy was better and misses were closer, 7 GIRs, 11/13 FIRs but the misses were just off and recoverable.  The rib injury slightly lingering but as of today (6/12) feels completely healed. 
 

GHIN determined PCC as -1 so not sure how to factor in.

Played a short but difficult course and somehow, the slope rating is only 117 which blows my mind. Not the type of course that I enjoy playing as you can only use your driver about 3 or 4 times. Lost a bunch of balls (and incurred far too many penalty strokes in the process).

Another PDX spy!  We should organize a regional get together this summer, there's enough of us around.  Don't worry about the lost balls, you probably found some of mine if you were looking.

Was a good round, driver was doing well but the best part was I got to play with my 11 year old daughter. We had a lot of fun.
