The Good Morning Thread

Good Morning everyone!  Today was my physical therapy day and the therapist changed up my exercise routines.  I had just gotten used to the exercise order, # of reps and # of sets.  Some exercises are the same, but the reps and sets changed; some new exercises thrown in the middle.  Ugh!

Knee feels a little better with help from pain relieving ointment and staying off it for a couple of days.  I'm going to give it a try tomorrow; Thanksgiving Day shotgun start but not a tournament.  

Hope everyone traveling today and tomorrow has clear skies and roads... stay safe!!  If you get delayed, just be patient... remember that as golfers we have learned that trait very well.

Good Thanksgiving Eve Spies!

Cloudy but nice Central Florida morning, 67 degrees at 7am tee off.  Walked 18 holes this morning with golf buddies.  No rain, but it was windy and warmed up to about 75 degrees by end of the round.  Have to give my beautiful wife props & have a pass to play tomorrow morning at 7am & she's cooking dinner for 12 tomorrow! I'll help with prep work today & a couple more cups of espresso! 

Welcome @Coachbutt!  I'll echo other statements, this is a Great Group!  

@cksurfdude had to laugh the Official Start of Italian Eating Season! LMAO! So True! You get your doctors appointments out of the way before Thanksgiving & you schedule follow-ups for Late March early April, this way you're out of the food coma! When I lived on Long Island with all the family, it was one feast after another. All the Italian pastries, the pasta, oh yea the turkey.

Happy thanksgiving eve everyone! I hope everyone has a great holiday and enjoys some time off spent with family and friends.

We are hosting a pre-thanksgiving cousins get together which has sort of become a yearly tradition. 

I finished the storage shelving from my earlier post which will help clean up a lot of my crap I have laying around in the living area of the basement where we tend to congregate (mainly because of the bar). I thought it came out good and it’s already filling up with stuff!

Well... I have self control issues when it comes to golf gear. Hahaha. So I'm happy to hear that the boss called and gave permission because the 34" lefty BB1W should be here mid-December. Have to admit, as a long time Scotty Cameron fan, I'll be interested to see how the Bettinardi compares to the NP2.5+ that has been in the bag. The all black setup with black shaft and the bright shade of blue accents & grip was just too sweet for me to pass up.

Excellent! I too have been told I have control issues…..not sure why. 

Hope you get it soon and would love to hear your thoughts once you get some time with it on the practice green.

Between the stash of clubs in the garage, the workshop in the basement, and the pile of clubs in the corner of the #golffice we talked about last week on the forum call - I dont see it as an issue of control, rather I see it as evidence of my passion for this game we love and the variety of gear we get to play with as we try to conquer this awesome game! (That is what I call a positive spin - hehe) Will definitely share when it arrives and first impressions! Thanks for the continued support!!

Good afternoon, everyone. Thanksgiving eve and I took the boys and their cousins to Topgolf. Not really real golf but good enough for what we needed.

Gift cards to Topgolf gift cards make a great gift. Kids love coming and I get to show off, lol. Hope everyone has a great Thanksgiving eve!

Good job in helping with facilitating the purchase of another spy. So much good happening from one fellow MGS to another. In my case I am still quite grateful to  @Josh Parker for being willing to throw himself under the bus and being a foil for my wife’s ire at my purchase of the set of Edison customized wedges. He is a kind and extremely brave man. Hopefully Texas is large enough for both of us to avert the scourge of my royal ruler’s revenge.

I am here for the people. I am helping to create a healthier environment by lightening the amount of cash @BLD7 has to lug around in his wallet. Further, with a thinner wallet in his back pocket, he won’t have back issues now.

Coffee in hand and have about an hour before the smoker needs to be lit and prepped for a 15lb turkey to slowly turn in to a delicious meal this evening.

Good morning to all! It is the day we have all be waiting for (if your a fat kid like me)! It’s THANKSGIVING! Today I’m thankful for the food on the table, the roof over my head, and the time off to spend with family and loved ones. As I started this week with reflection, I realized changing my mindset to find the good is something I need to do more often, especially in golf. I need to remember it’s a game, to have fun, and to find the enjoyment in the frustration with it! Man I can’t wait to dive into food a little later, watch the egg bowl, and hang out with my family! As always, BE THE BLESSING!

Good morning MGSpies from a not too cold WNY on Thanksgiving morning getting ready for the 128th running of the Turkey Trot from Kenmore down into Buffalo Thursday.  Will edit the post later once I have a photo to share but others may run it (like my son who likely will go to better previous times) and I am going to walk briskly in my best practiced Ready Golf pace, and once you see the photo you will understand why I mention that part.  Many who are not serious runners/participants do so with a theme or costume.  Enough said. 

And yes that is a canoe being portaged behind me, same guy, every year, 8km, makes a great hat I guess.

Hope golf and good food is a part of your day  
(not sure what that is because it would be stretching it to call it a birdie, eagle or albatros )

Up early. 3rd cup of coffee watching Fortinet, staring at 7 different putters leaning against the wall along with very mature Hogan Radial 1 iron. Turkey day at sister's house with her son the golf pro. Kids and grandchildren up north doing their own thing.Later on will put Arlo on turntable and call kids and imagine their eyes Rolling as they hear Alices Resturant for 40th time.. Happy Turkey Day one and all.

Agree wholeheartedly. Family followed by golf and the folks we've met playing the game has become a source of fond memories as I age. In 94 a young man was at a local mini at 7am looking to play,he joined us and 29yrs later we're still together as Golfing buddies ever though we are separated by 20yrs. No longer able to walk the course I have fond recollections of those sticks clinking on my back as we walked. You can't buy these things.

Good morning everyone and Happy Thanksgiving!

Not much going on here so far, my wife will be waking up soon to put her sinfully delicious ham in the Crock-Pot for us to consume later. She buys a spiral cut maple brown sugar ham then packs each crevice with more brown sugar. She then coats it with maple syrup and pineapple juice. 

@Coachbutt, I didn't get to welcome you to the forum yesterday so I wanted to say it's good to have you here. This is the most friendly forum in the Internet, so hop in and talk golf and life.

It's 27º here and my wife and I are playing golf today; course has an 11am shotgun so everyone can go home afterwards.  We have an 8 lb turkey so it should take too long to cook when we get home!

Good morning spies and a happy Thanksgiving to you all. Pretty easy day for us really, my dad is coming over for food this afternoon so the cooking is fairly lowkey. It will still be turkey, mashed taters, rolls and other traditional choices, it just doesn’t cover every inch of counter space in my house.  

Probably do some putting and chipping while the turkey is cooking to pass the time.

These are the things I love about the game the most! I’ve met some amazing people and learned so much! Most of which are quite a bit older than me! I love getting to meet new people that are willing to share life experiences over the game of golf and a couple drinks after, and I keep in touch with quite a few of them!
