Good morning everyone. Christmas gets different once the kids become teenagers. Parents are typically up long before they are and we usually have to wake them up so we can start the opening process. Normally I wouldn’t mind the quiet morning but this year Santa brought me The Stack and a PRGR monitor and I feel like I’m 10 again, eager to open and play with my new toy! My wife and I had such a wonderful time FaceTiming with our son and his fiancé yesterday. He is working today. My son and I enjoyed our traditional Christmas tequila shot. He gave me a very nice LinkSoul hoodie.
I will be cooking a prime rib for dinner tonight. My two brothers in law will be joining us.my Nonni’s sauce turned out wonderfully for Christmas Eve Dinner!

Quick morning at work to get setup for a larger maintenance day at the curling hall. Kids had up and down night last night with the littlest one not quite adjusting to real food as well. Ivan was just wired after his 3-5pm nap. Too many new toys to play with and too much overload!

Good morning fellow spies and I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas, I know we sure did. Back to the work grind for four days before another three day weekend for new years! We have made it a tradition to go to my in-laws cabin for the new years weekend, so our boys are looking forward to that. 

I am looking forward to not having to come up with things to do with our elf on the shelf for another 11 months

Good morning all!

I hope that everyone celebrating had a wonderful Christmas. It was a sunny 55 here in Upstate NY yesterday - kicking myself for not bringing the clubs along for a quick round on Christmas!

We had a great day full of food, drinks, gifts and a mix between football and Christmas movies.

I somehow became in charge of the dinner entree and cooked a beef tenderloin for the family. Pretty happy with how it turned out given I had never cooked one before

Up early this morning and took the dog out for a walk around my parents' neighborhood. We had a standoff with some larger "dogs" that we don't see too often in Chicago

Additionally, I found out yesterday that I won a $500 gift card to Rhoback in an Instagram giveaway!  Incredibly excited to add some new polos and quarter zips to the collection for 2024. 

I'm fortunate to be off this week for work. I hope that everyone returning to the grind has an easy week and that those playing golf hit 'em straight!

It's a cloudy, wet morning here but I'm not going to let that dampen my mood. My coffee is warm and I'm trapped under a cuddle pile of dogs either because they love me or are wanting to steal my warmth. 

@Byrnzee that tenderloin looks amazing! I'm sure it didn't last long. Congratulations on winning the Rhoback gift card, I've heard nothing but positive things about them and I can't wait to see what you purchase. It also is cool you saw some deer while walking the dog, it's crazy to me that they stood there long enough for a photo. 

@IndyBonzo I saw where you're heading down to Nashville, safe travels my friend. I haven't been up there in a while and I'm sure you'll have plenty to do and a good time with your family.

Good morning Spies on a wet and cool Michigan morning. No work today, as it will be a second Christmas celebration with my children and grandson coming over in the late morning, early afternoon time period due to their work schedule requirements having them work on Christmas Day.

@Byrnzee the tenderloin looks awesome, and it is ironic as I have a prime rib roast currently in the oven for my family get together today.

To those who may have to actually work today, hope that the tasks at hand are not too difficult and that you may be able to get out and still enjoy the holiday season.

To those who are able to get out and do some golf related things, may the enjoyment be high, and the score s if applicable be low.

Hope that your day is the best it can be, and that all may have positive, enjoyable, and stress-free days.

   Headed to the home track.. Will be hard pressed to make it into the 60’s today temperature wise. I am still so bloated from stuffing myself and with having to wear “ some “ warming clothes, I will probably shoot in the 60’s for 9 holes. 
  But it is still golf and it is important to attend the Ancient Ager muster this morning to see how many and how well my elderly golfing comrades/foes survived and fared over the Christmas weekend. 
   Hold on to the your positive Christmas spirit for as long as you can my friends.

Good morning all! I'm in that sweet time of the morning where it's quiet and the coffee is hot. It has occurred to me that I still have another week before I return to the office. Good morning everyone. Vacation day 2 and just lounging with some coffee and Boxing Day football (soccer) on the tube. Snow on the ground from yesterday looks like it’s gonna be around a long time. 10 day forecast has two days above freezing. Looks like the practice net and the Speed Stack are gonna get some good use in for the next few weeks. Hope everyone is recovering well from their Christmas hangover. If you have to work today, I hope it passes quickly.

I have the week off but it looks like I will be put to task. Seems SWMBO thought it was a good idea to get my son floating shelves for all his Star Wars LEGO’s. So I know what’s in store for me today.

I was hoping to re-shaft my old set of clubs as the shafts are out for delivery. Then I was going to finish off the ceiling in the simulator bay. Well I have time, I do have the next 7 days off. 

I guess I better get started on something. I think I’ll start with breakfast.

I hope everyone had a great day yesterday. I can confirm that @Byrnzee did a great job on the tenderloin as i was one of the ones eating it haha.

Unfortunately for me I am back to work today but given the season of gathering I have a little congestion so it's the perfect excuse not to go into the office. On an upside I have new golf equipment getting delivered today that I likely post in the CHA thread

Hope everyone had a joyous and stress free Christmas! 

It has been warm here, false spring, so I am headed to the range today. Don’t have to go back to the shackles of toil until Thursday. Going to work on my pervasive “out-to-in” swing mechanic and try to bump that off for a straight in-to-in or in-to-out. At least that is the plan. Why is it, I feel like I seem to re-start my swing training from the ground up, every couple of months?

Have had a nice break from my weekly Balintawak training too. Back at it on January 12th. My joints have felt really good these past couple of weeks so I’ll try to keep some rest periods in there going forward.

Good morning Spies,

Two cups down. Apple pie for breakfast and I ran a mile. It was my coach's assignment for today. I hope all had a very nice Christmas. We had a lovely Christmas dinner. The prime rib was a hit with the brothers-in-law. And I participated in the end of an era of sorts. San Franciscans long had the Anchor Brewing Company to call our own. This small craft brewery was purchased by Sapporo and like many corporations they ruined a good thing. In my homebrewing days I was able to spend a bit of time at Anchor. I look back fondly at the privilege. Sapporo shut down Anchor earlier this year. And like that Anchor Christmas Ale is now more. Thankfully I still had one bottle of their 2022 Christmas Ale. 

Golf related Christmas gifts included a LinkSoul hoodie, a dozen Snell Prime golf balls and a couple of boxes of very nice Western Birch golf tees. But I am most excited about my carbon steel wok. Can't wait to get cooking with that one. I can use the wok attachment for my stove. It's been collecting dust in the cupboard.

In laws prepared a ham dinner for Xmas day. Kids are all away, as we had our gathering last week in anticipation

Hey ya'll! All right the yuletide festivities are over and now we look forward to 2024. Whew! Where did the time go? I swear every day I wake up and another month has passed.

Xmas with the family was great. Plenty of cheer and joy all around! Soggy days so no hitting golf balls in the back like I had wanted, but alas there will be days ahead I am sure. No material items under the tree for me. The best present was seeing my Mom's face on a video call and talking to her a week after she had nearly had her heart fail. It is a stark reminder of the brief time we all have on this blue planet. Let us count our blessings and be thankful!
