I have been testing out shafts and after some initial testing I liked the Modus 120 shafts. I did a 2nd testing with the Modus to compare Stiff and X Stiff. Despite the fact that by the book I should be X stiff my dispersion was tighter with the stiff. I also liked that with the stiff for full swings my spin was a little higher but on punch shots the spin was actually slightly lower. Finally today I did a test with the with the stiff modus and my current shaft and not only was it lower launching and higher spin which I was looking for buy dispersion was also higher. So I decided to go ahead and pull the trigger on a set that was a good deal on eBay.

Just purchased sub70 286 forged wedges 54 and 58 degree. They were great to work with and arrived in 10days. Used them for the first time today. They were amazing I loved them. I haven’t been so excited for new clubs in a long time.

Trying the LA Golf Balls.  Seems decent, reminds me of Kirkland brands.  Great on full shots but would like a little softer cover around the green

Trying the MaxFli Tour X the past 3 games, so far so good. Longer than my Tour Response, doesn't have the same bite as the Response. Putting has been great, soft feel for a compression of 101.
Good Trajectory and results on the approaches.

I have the 286 as my 50* gap wedge and use it ALL the time. Love that wedge. My 54/60 JB Full Groove wedges are great too, but I rely heavily on my 50*. Sub70 is so awesome to deal with.

Well, I wasn't looking for anything but when the Rock Bottom Golf deal scrolled across my news feed I had to take a look.

The Tour Edge C721 Pro was a driver that was fit to me through the TRUEGolfFit system Spring '22 but I just never really looked too much into it.

So when I saw the deal they were offering, I figured what the heck. Let's give it a go. 9.5* w/ Tensei Raw White 65S shaft. The 3W is with a Tensei Raw Blue 65S shaft (Raw White was out of stock). Did come with a wrench, so that's a nice plus.

I'll be very curious to get these on the range and bash some balls and see how they work. Shafts are my main concern as I've always played HZRDUS shafts in my woods.

Maybe I'll do a member review of these.

Great deal, I looked at those real hard but ultimately decided I didn't want to go through a long drawn out trade process and couldn't justify getting anything new without getting rid of stuff.

Yeah, I've got 2 more drivers on eBay along with a super hybrid. But $200 for both driver and FW was too good to pass up. Doesn't look like they're offering it any more. Glad I jumped when I did.

Haven't bought anything new just yet but end of season/fall sales are starting to creep in a my local golf store and I just caught the bug. The offerings on the used market in my area right now are absolutely not interesting from a price standpoint, especially considering end of year sales.

Thinking of replacing my TaylorMade MG2 GW (52*) and SW (56*) for wedges with stiff shafts and go GW (50*) and SW (54*) as I often hit full shots inside 120 yds with these two clubs. I just upgraded to an x-stiff shaft in my irons (thanks to the Caley 01CB member testing) and there is now a bigger distance blind spot between 120 yds and 135ish yds with my current 52* GW and my 46* PW. Titleist Vokey SM8s from last year are now on sale at 25% off (and were already reduced from last year) but only left-handed clubs or funky grinds are left...

I also recently got the obsessive idea of getting a 15th club, most likely a 2 or 3 hybrid or possibly a 5-wood, to start making rotations with my Taylormade Stealth UDI 2-iron (18*) depending on course and mood, basically. I used to despise hybrids and I don't know what happened but I desperately want one now.

What are your thoughts on this?

Will likely post a photo of a new shiny toy sometime in the near future...

I picked up a Carnahan St. John's putter in the bargain bin at 2ndSwing for $8.  Took it home and reshafted/gripped it and put in some new paintfill.

 

 

Next up is the possible replacement for my SLDR.  I really wanted it to be a G30 LS, but the numbers just weren't there.  So hit this bad boy and spin dropped almost 900rpm and ball flight straightened out.  I'll have to get it on the course for a side by side comparison before I determine if it makes a spot in the bag.

 

I've bought more equipment than I'd like to confess... 

 

Got some clubs in the bag that are really working well now that I've gotten this season. 

Stealth Plus hybrid, paradym triple diamond. 

 

Just got fit for ZX7 irons and I can't wait to get them!

This may not be the appropriate thread to post this, but I had to post it somewhere 

I went up to the range today to get some work in, and there was a Taylormade fitting tent up. I wanted SO BADLY to ask if there were any appointment times available as I really want to hit the new P790s and the MG4 wedges, but I had my 3 year old with me so told myself today was not the day. Also the fact that I'm playing a brand new bag of Cobra clubs from the Cobra challenge LOL. But boy was I tempted. I also really want to swing the Stealth 2 because of the trade-in deal and $100 gift card promo they are running, even though I did not like last year's model at all. I could trade in my old clubs that got ousted by my Cobra's and get a Stealth 2 for $100 (taking into account the gift card, so $200 out of pocket). Probably will sign up for the next fitting day when the club has another

Anyone have a recommendation on a good fairway wood to replace my 25-degree hybrid? I don't love it off tight lies -- seems to go left as many hybrids do -- and I think it would be better to have a 23- or 24-degree fairway wood. The problem seems to be that those levels of loft are either a 7- or 9-wood, and getting a non-senior shaft is often a custom order. Should I just shell out or is there a good option I'm missing?

I have dishonoured the club ho’s on the site. I just shelved my TSR2 3 wood, looked past the TSi3, forgot about the 917, didn’t even look at the 915 and put the old 909F2 with the OG Grafalloy blue back in the bag. I just hit that thing so well. I may as well sell all the others

Yes, look at the Callaway Apex UW. It's kind of a cross between a hybrid and a wood. Comes in a 21° (7 wood). I have both the 5 and 7 (previous model) I got off CPO and they are becoming absolute weapons for me. 210 yards off the deck for the 5 and about 195 or so for the 7.

Been struggling with putting lately, and thought this might help out. First impressions, putting with this is pretty difficult. I knew that my usual miss was right, but I’m delivering the putter face slightly open fairly often. Hoping to develop a more consistent setup that I’m hitting more square.

Bought a pulled stroke lab shaft for $20 shipped and it arrived today.  prior owner used a scotch bribe pad on the chrome to dull the finish; still looks decent; has what looks like the original grip and it seems like the counterweight is still in place.  Need to order some epoxy; mine got dried out.    Next question is what putter to put this in….Odyssey RSX or do I put it in my Taylormade to compare against the club I have been gaming?  Only issue with the TM is that the shaft tip was prepped so it won’t look great on the stub.  Or do I find another head while I wait for the epoxy?    If I like it on the TM, I could always pull the steel section and replace.

$20 is a great price for an experiment!  Look forward to seeing it in action and getting your reviews.

After dropping my Bushnell V4 and getting it drenched, my rangefinder was giving me odd numbers (every so often), so I was having to triple check the numbers with my watch.  So when I saw this on sale, I snagged it.  I know it’s not very exciting, but the last one was pretty good, so hopefully this v5 will be a little bit better.
