First thing is like a lot of you I ordered a MGS driver headcovers. I’m finally putting the Epic Max in the bag this week, and I hate the stock hc so I can’t wait for it to get here.

Speaking of the driver, getting fitted into the 5.0 shaft was a bit of a wake up call. It really does work better for me distance wise than the Alta regular in my G400 Max (which has been my favorite driver ever). I’ve decided to go senior flex in everything except my wedges now, so buckle up, the driver HC was the tip of the iceberg purchase wise the last few days. 🙄

First let’s start with the woods. I’m switching shafts in my 4 wood and 3&4 hybrids. Sticking with Kuro Kage, but going senior. The FW will cost $75 the hybrids $35 each. I’ll save on the adaptors and grips because the fitter I know down here was able to blow them off and put them on the new ones. Total comes to $145, installed, which I think is pretty good?

Next, the irons. I know you guys are probably getting tired of hearing me complain how I’ve been struggling with mine. I tested a few last week, and mine won out, but after another struggle on Saturday, I’m moving on from the PXGs. (anyone interested let me know via dm). Yesterday I hit the Sim and the Mavriks which are the strongest lofted I tried. I held off on them last week thinking I needed higher launch, but the Mavriks were great. A club longer than the PXGs and a lot easier to hit.

I’ll decide tonight whether to order another set of Rogue X (I loved these irons, never should’ve switche) from Amazon or the set of Mavriks I have in the cart at Callaway .com.

*** ADVICE NEEDED***  I’m leaning toward the Rogue X because of familiarity with the heads, and price. I can get them $300 cheaper than the Mavriks.  Another reason is the shafts. The stock Synergy shaft in senior is the same weight as the Catalyst in the Mavrik, but I think the Project X shafts play stiff to flex. I liked the regular flex Synergy in my old X’s, and from what I’ve read the Catalyst is an excellent shaft, any comments on this from the “shaft gurus” here?

Usually I go for the new model, but this is a tough one, my friend.

I had such a great run with the Rogue X. I think performance will be similar, if not the same for me with both. I like the way the X’s look in the bag more than the Mavriks, and they’re cheaper. Then there’s the Project X shaft thing. I’ve never really liked them, probably because I never knew they played stiff to flex until recently.

As I’m typing this, I seem to be making a case to go with the Rogue’s, don’t I?

... This apartment living is driving me crazy. First had a Sim2 Max delivered and stolen so PGA SS ordered me a new one but I have been waiting 2 months. TM said the will expedite the order and take it up with FedEx. But no workshop has really been killing me. I do a lot of tinkering and finally had to order a stand, a hardwood top and a vice. PIA to put together but at least I can start pulling shafts and re-installing them, re-grip and anything else I need to do. First up is taking the Steelfiber 95's out of my T100S and installing them in my Cobra Tour irons, then re-installing the Kuro Kage shafts in the T100S. Next after taking the 950GH out of my Cobra's, installing them in my Z Forged after removing the Modus 120's and installing them in my P760's. Happy to come out of retirement and get some work done! I have entered this pic upside down and right side up but it posts upside down which is right in line with how difficult to was to put together!  🤪

Seriously. We have a package locker for our apartment but things like clubs and carseats dont fit. Although I think I remember my Mavrik irons were delivered to the locker. Driver definitely wont fit. Not sure what is going to happen as I am expecting sub70 irons today and I won't be home. Signature required means nothing apparently to Fedex or UPS because the carseat they delivered yesterday also said signature required but they left it at the door.

Nice! I also demo'd the 699 pros and then eventually ordered a preowned set over the Memorial day weekend. Expecting them today. Not sure if they will leave it at the door as it says signature required but as I mentioned above that seems to be a suggestion for these guys. Hope it don't get stolen because it would be odd to replace preowned irons...

Gonna be like Christmas for me this week. In addition to the epic speed head and pro Orange shaft coming, I just picked up a 50* Zipcore full face wedge and a callaway optifit 2 adapter for the driver.

Bro same here, I got a Par and Stripes SZ extreme head coming from one of the admin's on here and a couple shafts, the Evenflow black and UST Proforce to try at a 46"-47" length on the driver.  I'm think of starting a tread on this little experiment.

I'm a genius.

I could buy a men's callaway epic flash used heavenwood for $150 plus or a women's version for $110 "like new". I opted for the women's version because i checked the specs and the heads are the exact same, same weight, everything. The like new came from callaway as brand new in plastic.

good call!

I've often wondered what the difference is in some women's clubs vs men's. I understand shaft differences but when it comes to heads you might find they are pretty much identical.

also - what makes a putter (other than maybe the coloring) a ladies putter? last time I looked women and men pretty much putt the same way.

I was paying close attention to the differences amongst the Callaway fairway woods. In their more recent models, the Mavrik line for example, they started stamping the women's heads as "Mavrik Max W" for example. So it has a visual/branding difference. But these Epic Flash fairways are 100 percent the same.

Those Mizuno's are absolutely gorgeous, and I can't say I blame you for picking them up. Throw a little Bar Keepers Friend on them with some 0000 steel wool and that'll shine them up nicely! Have fun hitting them and let us know how they perform for you!
