Would be pissed. Especially on a putter. Looks like the manager at least did the right thing even if they didnt exhibit any good customer service along the way. Live and learn. Probably time to find a different golf shop.

What a crock from the store. If it was me I'd be pushing the issue higher up. I'm usually in the "ok if they offer to fix it, all is well" category, but blaming you and refusing to accept responsibility? That's BS.

I was honestly shocked how the manager handled this. I’ve purchased nearly every club I’ve owned from Carl’s. Will be spending my money elsewhere from no one.

Id be pissed too! Even if it is a scotty 😜. To play devils advocate, you left and came back with it scratched and they probably get scammed a bunch. But you should absolutely be pissed and screw those guys!

As someone that used to do a lot of regripping through college, the person had to try to do that kind of damage. I know the setup at my store had a super easy adjustment mechanism for the grip on the shaft. To do that damage, one would have to physically try to crank that clamp down. There's just no excuse for that lack of attention.
