In my 9 yesterday they were really good once I got settled and comfortable with the mindset of irons only. Played +4 through the last 5 holes!

Welcome back from vacation spies! So, I am back after eight days and I played this round back working on the basics. Basically after the third hole it was posture and chest up. What a difference! The rest of the day was one of the best ball striking ever! I had one bogey today and missed a ton of putts. However, 69 is always a good score! Still loving the Callaway Paradym irons and TD driver!! Hit 16 greens and only missed 2 fairways. 

 

Great round, birdies must been flying often.

Absolutely horrendous day on the course. I haven’t played since Friday, my back was stiff, and the range was closed because of all the rain. The good news was I didn’t have a single bogey, they were all doubles and triples.

I started the front 9 with 3 doubles and a triple before finishing it with 5 straight pars. Then on the back I interspersed a smattering of doubles between 5 more pars. I only had 25 putts, but only had 3 GIR.

Played this round without really thinking about scores. I was surprised to find that I scored a 90 because the round certainly didn't feel like it when I was playing. I thought I was doing poorly. I just didn't feel like I had any momentum, except for birdie on my final hole, the par 5 ninth. At least I ended on a good note. I'll see what next week brings.

Finally managed to break 80 on this course. This course hosts the season finale on the Korn Ferry tour and they were in the early stages of getting the grandstands erected on 18. Won’t lie, it was a little nerve racking hitting with that in the background. Putter wasn’t quite as hot as the day before but was still draining putts from 4’-8’ when I needed them.

Got to play TPC Sawgrass....bar none the most difficult course I've ever played.  The answer to the question....I got a 5 on hole #17.  First one short left in the water, reboot and get on to finish with a 2 putt double.  I would like to play it again with the little bit of course knowledge I learned.  Checked another course off my bucket list!

After celebrating my birthday yesterday, I returned to the golf course to find that both nines had been aerated (big holes) and top-dressed with sand.  Some present!

What made it worse was that they were indiscriminately rolling some greens and not others.  As a result, there was a huge discrepancy in green speeds.  As a result, I had an uncharacteristic two 3 putts on the back.  The killer was 16, a short par 3 where I was on the back on my tee shot and 3 putted from 20 ft. down hill.  

I hit one more green in regulation than usual, had five up and downs and a decent driving day both on fairways hit (86%) and in distance (187 yards longest drive which is good for me and 176 yards average drives).  Other than the erratic green conditions making putting more guess work than skill, I really only hit one poor shot all day.  Overall given the conditions, I was pleased with today's round.

This summer, they will aerate three more times (about every six weeks).  Plus, this week they started a five month project replacing all the old PVC irrigation system with new olefin-based pipe.  If it wasn't hard enough playing with our narrow fairways, down we'll have new people, machinery and trenches as additional obstacles to maneuver around.

Today was both fun and disappointing! Ball striking was very nice. However, the greens had been punched and it showed. Lipped out 8 and yes 8 putts. I hit 16 greens had 1 double and shot 2 over. Ouch! Another round that could have, should have, but wasn’t! Can’t wait for better greens and the new putter!

A long round killed me on a few loose shots. We started on the back 9 and birdied 2 of the first 3 holes, and by the time we played holes 16, 17, and 18, the pace of play ruined my rhythm. Two hours and 20 minutes on the first 9 holes and 1 hour and 30 minutes on the 2nd 9 holes!  Crazy round.  My best 18-hole score this season, but my approach shots were below average.  Chipping and putting saved me.  Partly cloudy at 80° with light winds.
