Yea, I was also bummed that McCarthy caught that wedge a bit heavy and thought the same thing, that he just didn’t look comfortable with the shot. 
How long was the stoppage time? I was able to jump ahead through things I didn’t want to watch so I never saw how long they were held up. Every other sport has injury time outs and a few weeks ago Scottie was getting a massage on every tee box, so I didn’t think much of it.

They took a commercial break and it was done when they came back... about 3-4 minutes?

Good Morning all!

It's Master week!! Can't wait to get no work done and watch pretty much every minute of coverage. 

Syracuse may actually have clear skies for once for the eclipse which I think is more rare than the eclipse itself... I'm WFH as the wife has an appointment and we couldn't get a babysitter so I'm on dad-duty part of the day.

It’s in the rule clarifications: 

5.6a/2 – Player Who Gets Sudden Illness or Injury Is Normally Allowed 15 Minutes to Recover

If a player gets a sudden illness or injury (such as from heat exhaustion, a bee sting or being struck by a golf ball), the Committee should normally allow that player up to 15 minutes to recover before the player’s failure to continue play would be unreasonably delaying play.

The Committee should also normally apply this same time limit to the total time a player uses when they receive repeated treatments during a round to alleviate an injury.

Good morning Spies and Happy Masters Week!

It's officially the best golf week of the year and I can't wait to consume as much content from Augusta National as humanly possible. 

We had some great golf on yesterday with the battle between Akshay Bhatia and Denny McCarthy as well as four in a row for Nelly Korda. Really glad to see Akshay get an invite to Augusta this week, but that chunk by Denny was brutal after a historic back nine.

Happy Eclipse Day as well! We'll get about 94% coverage here in Chicago, so I might try to sneak out to our rooftop to catch a glimpse when it happens. Just need to find some cardboard glasses first...

The weather also seems to officially be turning around as we're in the 70s today! Hoping this means steady golf weather is just around the corner.

Good morning spies!

Another tee time at Green Tree GC at 11:30 that I am squeezing in today. I shot a 97 last time out there on Thursday. Not expecting much of a better result, but more so going to try out some different approaches as the wind speeds are going to be much more forgiving this time around. I have another tee time booked later this week at a different course which I will be taking a bit more seriously as it looks be the final show of the Qi10 Max before my review is in. 

With that, time for some morning stretches, coffee/breakfast and a good walk with Mr. Pickles.

Good morning spies! A little late this morning, but I am retired so what does late mean?? Spent some serious time yesterday working on the finesse swing with the launch monitor.  When I can play again my short game should be excellent instead of the normal golf hiatus terrible. We shall see! 

I do not watch much TV. This week I will make an exception.

Man what a weekend. Living in the Southeast, SEC sports are a HUGE deal. What a weekend it was. I am a fan of Mississippi State. Saturday night was a mess. 11 players ejected in the 8th inning. Then Sunday night news about Calipari to Arkansas... whew!!! Head is exploding over here! 

On a golf related note. I lost second round of match play tournament and I shot even par. That one stinks!

Had to do a double-take on the Calipari news... that was something I didn't see coming. I know the KU fans are tough but he must have felt like he lost some support in the administration....

Good morning all!

Thanks to all those who sent well wishes for my first day.  It's going very well.

In a few hours we get the Eclipse (or apocalypse as my middle child was saying... if he is right, it was nice knowing you all), some golf goodies arriving in multiple packages  , and ITS MASTERS WEEK.

What a time to be alive.  Thankfully my new job is fully remote... so the Masters app will be up and running often this week!

Good morning to all. Another week begins where I'm in "hurry up and wait mode" with my client. They decided to last minute run a product over the weekend and had all kinds of problems, so they wanted me here early in the morning on Monday to check things out. I walk in and the whole place is shut down while a drive shaft is being replaced. Have to love how quickly choke points can shut down an operation. Once the shaft is replaced, I've still got probably an hour or two to wait on top of that for the belts to be welded before we can start up. I'm here so my time is being charged to the client, even though my hands are tied on being able to actually do anything for them at the moment.

Good pre-eclipse afternoon spies! 

I happen to be in the path of totality (which I think means I am one of the first to die during the apocalypse), so we will be gazing at the sun (with protective glasses) for the whole 3 minutes. I can’t wait. All of the planets should be visible around the eclipsed sun. They literally are all right in the area.

Today is also National Empanada Day! So grab a couple before or during a round. Then don’t forget to stop at the turn to relieve some pressure….

Good day MGS!

Well its not your typical start to the week as its the great eclipse today and in SW Ohio we will be in total darkness as it passes. I bought my son this $10 piece of cardboard with a smartphone camera thing and a safe spot for viewing with your eyes. AND more important than a celestial event.....its The Masters week baby!

Sooo looking forward to taking that in. Just a magical week of golf. A friend of mine is going to all 4 rounds this year, but I will be looking for him in the crowd.

 

Still taking practice swings here and there. Made it to the range on Saturday and worked on my tempo. No future rounds planned, but I am still thinking like I am about to play!

Late start, some personal things came up, but at work now.  Murphys laws... thats my motto today.  Pretty sure all of them apply right now.

Yesterday was fantastic though! Got a round in, another sub 90 card, and family dinner.

I'm remembering back to 2017 when I tried to use my front facing camera on my phone, through sunglasses, to see it and ended up doing a little damage to that camera. I was ... surprised.

Good Monday Afternoon to you, my spies. Hope that those interested in the Solar Eclipse were able to get to see what they wanted to see. The eclipse was a bust in my part of the world. More excitement about getting rain than missing out on the eclipse due to the rain’s cloud cover. The eclipse did remind me of my golf game, in that my golf game is always in some varying degree of darkness. 
 I have had a fairly low key late morning and afternoon, following starting the day with another quick Zoom call with “ Those People “. By the end of the call, I was seriously contemplating buying or just stealing a sign  like the one below and leaving it in front of the corporate ivory tower…..

@GolfSpy BOS hope you have a good start to your new gig. @GolfSpy_APH enjoy your season’s first round.. May you find nothing but fairways and greens. @William P fully expecting back to back championships for your group. A DYNASTY  is in the making. 
   May you all manipulate and force Monday to manufacture outcomes to your liking.

I've been referring to it as the Apoceclipse as I work with a couple of conspiracy people and I happen to like really bad puns. I'm glad the first day at the new job went well for you Bryan. 

@Kenny B I'm starting today taking care of the A1C, right now I'm working on cutting down on carbs and planning on starting to add some exercise to my routine. I'm having to wean myself off the sugar I like in my coffee and get it down to a more reasonable level. Hopefully I'll have dropped some weight by the time we meet in Virginia. 

Like everyone else, I'm excited for the Masters this weekend, I really don't have a horse in the race as to who I would want to win. I think it'd be cool for Rory to get the career slam but I'm just not confident he can pull it off. Really, I'd like to see Fleetwood win it.
