Didn’t have my best stuff, but played good enough when I had to execute. Only 1 bogey and that was a 7 iron into the wind at 175 that flew an extra 10 yards. Right over the flag and green behind a tree. Made bogey and just missed saving par. Missed a good 5 to 6 putts for birdie or Eagle. Still good day when I was just not feeling my best. Plus we won our Monday game!

Played Quintero Golf Club yesterday, very nice course, too tricked up or quirky for our taste.  Nobody on our trip played well there.  Played 4 courses so far, Quintero is 4th.

Got out for my weekly round on this holiday Monday due to other commitments over the weekend.

Had a 1:00PM tee time, and was off the course at 4:10PM.

Verry few people playing due to the holiday, and sunny, hot and humid weather.

Wind was a steady 15 - 20 mph and my longest tee shot was 297 yards, but a beautiful draw aided by a wind coming from the right rear of the tee box.

Hit 7 of 14 fairways, but those which were off were not off by much, and only (1) that was too far left on a par % made me take a lot less club to get back into play and still hit the green in regulation, although from a longer distance than usual.

Iron play was solid, see pictures below, but could not make any birdie putts. Greens were very bumpy and pot marked from what I assume was a busy weekend.

SWMBO went along and rode along, and was able to get out and walk about to get her needed exercise after  her hip replacement.

Had 6 of 9 GIR on the front, and 4 of 9 on the back, but short game was solid.

A total of 31 putts, 17 on the front and 14 on the back due to a lot of close chip shots.

Fun round with my parents and daughter on a beautiful day.  The slow greens hampered my putting - 34 putts.  Played the tips for the first time at this course and it changed strategy a little, but not much.  I feel like I am close to scoring better but cannot seem to get over the 80 threshold.  Maybe soon. Fingers crossed!

Wonderful course. Views were amazing, greens were fast and firm and my driver was in a good mood! Made a few mistakes that turned out quite costly, but I’m very happy with my performance on a difficult course in windy conditions.

GIR: 4/9 & 4/9 for 8/18

Putts: 16 (2x 3-putts) & 18 (1x 3-putt) for 34 (3x 3-putts)

(Yes, I 3-putted this monster of a putt. My first putt lacked just enough pace to pass the swale and rode the bowl all the way to the left of the green…)

Weekly round with Dad. He had a fantastic start right around Even and I was +8 through 6 following a triple bogey.

That's when the lightning alarm sounded and we had to walk back in from just about the furthest part of the course. There was a 20 minute delay once we got back to the clubhouse and then the 500 yard walk back out to the 7th tee. 

I got my act together on the back 9, I guess the lightning delay helped? 5 pars and 4 bogeys to finish a very weird 46-39 for a +14 85. 8/14 fw, 7/18 gir 33 putts.

The winds were angry yesterday. 

I played well though not as well I had hoped. 

On the hardest 4 holes I was hitting into the wind(which is normal but not this aggressive.  It was unforgiving and was requiring a 2 club difference between actual yardage and playing yardage.  

A nice birdie on 10 was uplifting but my only hole in the red on gross scores.

Today I played the blue tees to finish a full rated round at this fun 9 hole course that has a par 70 rating/slope if you play white to blue.

I played ok today, made a couple clutch putts and avoided any real bad holes. I'm really happy with how I played over the 18 holes in total, 8/12 fw 7/18 gir 33 putts. Couldn't get a birdie to go in, but I made a ton of pressure putts for net birdie.

The bad is finishing with 3 putt double bogey on the easiest hole on the course after 3 putting that green on the front 9 when I was about 18' away from my tee shot. That green broke me.
