Played this afternoon after work and was paired up with a father and son and we were following a slow foursome ahead of us all afternoon.

John, the dad was mid 50's and Dane the son was a high school senior relatively new to golf, and he belonged to the Youth on the Course program here and his cost to play was 5.00 as long as he walked. John had a cart, so they did ride together once we were out of sight of the clubhouse.

No practice this week, and it showed up for me on tee shots. 

Only hit 5 of 14 fairways, most misses were playable, but I did have a couple "punch-outs" rather than take a high risk shot.

Iron play was good, and that saved my score from being bad.

Here's a picture overlooking the back 9 as we were done. It kind of shows the serenity of why I try to get out especially after working all week.

Next round hopefully Sunday, providing the weather holds up.

Pete Dye links course just two minutes from my sister’s house.  Played 5600+ yards today. Weather was gorgeous, sunny with a light breeze. No trees to speak of, just rolling fairways with bunkers and mounds spread all over the place. In the 1980’s this was a stop on the Senior PGA Tour for 9 years.

I love playing this track.

Had the longest drive yet with the Teeless Driver at 203 yards.  This might just be my season busiest week on course with 4 rounds M, Tu, W, F and the good news is it was all walking with the Clicgear 3.5+ and feeling healthy

Conversation on the first tee which was number 10. Hey do you want to play? I said ok. He said what is your handicap and I said depends on the tees, believe I am a three here depending on the tees. He said there is only one set of tees the gold. I said I never seen too many play the gold. He said because they all suck. I said ok. He then says if you want to play lets play a match for 25 bucks a side. I said are you sure. He said are you scared? I said it’s a match straight up let’s go. I beat him on both sides. One I found him arrogant and two the guy called me out and I have never seen him here before. However, I finally had the perfect round! No bogeys or higher. All pars and five birdies. I was pumped and hit it great! Hit 16 greens and had 30 putts. What a great day and was happy to take his fifty bucks!!!   

Are you scared?   Sigh!  Obviously he thought he was talking to a "Vet"-erinarian, instead of a "Vet"-eran.  Duh in that guy.   He is probably still sulking over being beaten by a kitty-cat doctor

(Geeze!  Stop yelling at me people.  Not that I have a problem with Veterinarians; I love our Vet-erinarian, takes great care of our GR and is a really nice person.  And it definitely takes a special kind of person tout up with everyone else's pets.  But a Vet' and a Vet' are are not the same thing; know what I am saying).

Another really good round for me while pushing a cart. An OB tee shot on 6 (2ft right of stake, took a 2 stroke penalty to drop instead of teeing up again), missing a birdie putt from five ft to then 3 putt for bogey on 17 and a double bogey on 18 kept me from another record low round. A light rain for the first six holes didn't make the conditions any worse after a week of steady rain. Needless to say it was soft. Very happy overall! Go low this week guys and good luck! If I calculated net birdies correct I believe I have 6.

Rough nine Tuesday. 57. Today better on the back at 49 but coulda been better if I eliminate a quad and triple and just make bogey. Just one of those weeks

Today, I shot the best score since early June:  81 (on a par 70 with a 13 handicap).  A few things stand out.

  

• I hit all but one fairway (93% hit)
• I had twice as many greens in regulation (4) than I usually have.
• Even with the higher GIR, I still had 4 up and downs
• The 29 putts hides a pretty good putting day.  On 14 of the 18 holes the putt distance made was 2 foot or less!  I kept JUST missing the hole in each direction.  I was just short, long, left or right.  If just two of those putts drop, I'm in the 70's.
• As a good sign, my putting strokes gained was 3.44.

So, overall I cannot complain.  I'm hoping this will be something to build on for the coming weeks.

Weird round today compared to recent rounds. Driver went awry on one hole but was overall fine. Chipping was good but fuller wedges I struggled with distance control. Didn’t make a putt under 5 feet, except for a 15 footer that was my second putt after I blasted it past. Finally had a round without anything worse than a bogey, however, first round without a birdie in a while. Had ample opportunities to birdie but flat stick just wasn’t there today.

Not a long driving day, but everything went pretty much where I pointed it.  Only had a few mistakes with mis hits, and chipping still needs work.  Only lost two balls to water.  One drop was from a ball that went into the trees, which I found 30 yards further down than I thought it was.  

Highlight of the day was hitting par on #5, the index 3 par 5.  I got three pips for that, so Albatross!

Might be the best 17 holes of my life. Made a double bogey on #1 and then cruised from there. It has officially dropped my index below 4 which is crazy. Awaiting a correction but currently the game feels very good.

Just a solid round of golf. Good ball striking. The putter started out slow, but caught on fire late in the round. One putted the last four holes. Pretty happy with the progress in my game!

Really great round today with @Itzpiiz. Played a desert course, greens were crazy fast but rolled so true. Really fun winds to play in, lots of swirls. Got to play with a couple buddies I haven't seen in over a year too. Had a couple birdies, and one eagle look. Had a couple deep bombs, and approaches but the greens were just so slick.

I was feeling great front 9 had a few small errors but back nine I was riding a high with 3 birdies then completely blew up on the last two holes but still tied my record low of 78. My handicap is dropping so fast recently I just hope I can keep this play up. I do have to admit that my drive this week was on a long downhill par 5.
