Working through some swing changes that are really paying off everywhere but the driver, driver didn't leave the bag after the 4 hole. Thankfully I was hitting 3 wood great. Front 9 in particular, I was hitting almost every green then 2-putting. Not sexy but but I will take +3 on 9 holes every single round. Fell back to bogey golf on the back 9, chipping and putting cooled off a bit. Overall a fun round and great feeling some of the swing changes and time practicing are starting to pay off

I had a beautiful morning even though it was overcast with drizzle. Did not play well over the first 5 holes spraying the ball (putter and chips were saviors) 10 over then 7 over the remaining 14 holes. Makes the game so much more fun when I can stay focused.

I took the driver out of the bag and had some of my best play in a long time. Few blowup holes, but lots of promising potential.

A cold blustery day and I couldn't putt.  That about sums it up.

Strange day, couldn't hit my irons and hit my driver 3 different shapes from the tee. Short game was excellent, kept me from potentially having 100+ considering 32 putts on 47-45 for 92. Only played well in 3 hole spurts, followed by a double/triple bogey.

This was today's Friday 5/5 round.
Handicap (based on the last 20 rounds) recalculated after the round to go back to the 25 that it has been through most of 2022, some comfort in that.  Lots of missed one putts putting more singles and doubles on the card than I had hoped for.
1 par
10 singles
5 doubles
2 triples
Now this is what I am used to seeing, a par as the best score and lots more singles than anything else but those triples are the ones that drive me crazy lol

Longest was 174 with the driver and 3 net birdies or better.

Monday's round was not saved and I was careless when the notice popped up to close and save the round and touched delete instead so no idea really how similar or different the rounds this week were.

I did not feel good yesterday. First truly hot day of the year and I was already somewhat exhausted by the time I reached the course. I spent the first 6 holes feeling like I was on the verge of passing out. Got some food at the halfway house before teeing off on 7 and started to feel better, but my chiropractor adjustment from Thursday still left me with a stiff back as my muscles continued to recover.

Despite all of that, I managed an 81 with an eagle and a birdie on the card without any assistance from my handicap. 😄

*Side Note* I used the Golfshot app last week (and only Golfshot as I forgot my Shot Scope). I have to say, I was not very impressed. It did a great job of helping me keep score and tracked most shots without me having to do anything. However, to gain any level of accuracy meant a lot more manipulation than I've grown accustomed to. Probably just as well, I use enough tech on the course as is lol.

Last minute change from my club(Heritage Isles) to Silverado as there was a tournament and we were not told. Eight of us drove to Silverado. My game was pretty lousy at first, shooting a 49/37/86.  I had back to back birdies on par 4 #9 & par 3 #10.

Best round of the short golf season.  Positive strokes gained in driving, short game, and putting, but I'm struggling a bit with my irons for some reason.  Still extremely happy with a 74 this early in the season.

I twisted my ankle (again) this morning and had decided not to play today. Then I decided to go, and not play, but hang out with the guys and perhaps chip and putt. However, when I got there, one of the guys who had ankle surgery and hasn’t played for 5 weeks was there going to play the gold tees. It was suggested I play with him and 2 others from the golf tees.  So, I played in limp mode.

Limp mode is the best gear for me apparently. Limp mode is basically a 3/4 swing with 1 more club. I’m pretty accurate that way. I had a mental error on 5 and made double but then birdies on 6 and 7. But they were net eagles. And shot 36 net 32 on the front. 3 bogies, a double and one birdie and 2 net birdies for a 40/36 on the back. 27 putts and 4 of those touched the lip of the hole.

I guess it’s hard to be too disappointed with just 28 putts, but after putting with the LAB Directed Force 2.1 earlier in the week, I have not felt comfortable with my current gamer. Tuesday, my DF 2.1 gets here and we will see if I can actually make those putts.

Better day today; sunny and warmer at 60º to start at 10am, but still breezy.  Shot 39/39 (+2/+4) after starting with a bogey on the first hole.  Another bad putting day, but I did have a chip-in birdie on the par 3 #8.  😂  I also had two sandy pars and they weren't long putts.  😀

It was a rough back nine.  Lost my focus and paid for it with a run of doubles. It was still a great time.

Working at getting better ... and very slowly getting there.

Unfortunately, that’s all I will likely ever be again. Osteoarthritis in both knees and right ankle. It’s just that some days are better than others. Because of my ankle I added a slight pause at the top of the swing. OMG. I suggest that for older golfers. I will do it tomorrow and implement it on every swing. I saw a video on it this morning and tried with stellar results.

I've done the same thing.  That slight pause helps set my body in motion correctly.  When I don't do it, it's horrible.

All the aches and pains seem to get a little worse each year... and we both have another year coming up next Sunday!!!  I'm celebrating mine on a 4 day golf trip to central Oregon.

I’m celebrating my birthday with a Directed Force DF2.1 by L.A.B. Golf putter test. Plus the following weekend I’m playing in the biggest tournament of the year. Hopefully, the new putter will be successful.

Overall great 18 this week. Had a learned my wrist set issue I might have broke 90 combined. Today was the back nine at forest hills. Hit a near hole in one. Had a birdie and two pars. Should have had a couple more pars but I aimed poorly (a 90 yard pitch I aimed at the pin instead of middle green. If I do middle green I at worst par since I pulled the pitch. Nearly sunk a 39’ par putt on a par 5.  Was one rotation away from dropping. Also had two rim runners on chips. One one real bad iron shot. Shanked an 6i because last minute in swing I thought fade. Should have backed off and reset. Overall on the total 18 two penalties, 4 pars and the one birdie, 31 putts. 49/44.

Got out at an executive par 58 about an hour north of me, near Rutgers U. Was paired with 3 guys who were learning, but wanted to play blue tees. I played well right from the 1st tee, 7i to about 8' away. Hit 4/5 fw, 9/18 gir. The missed fw I went for it from 230y on a par 4 and pushed it right, but close to pin high, 40 yard right.

Short game held me back from scoring a very low number..3x 3 putts and a couple wedge shots I should have been able to get to tap in range left short, funny because that had been the saving grace this week when I shot 90+

About the same as yesterday, same score on the front... 39; one shot better on the back... 38.  Finally managed to string 4 good shots together on the Par 5 #18 to make a birdie.  Otherwise just a lot of scrambling.

It was cooler this morning because we teed off 2 hours earlier.  Finally took off my pullover on hole #16.

Shorter course, but lots of elevation changes, water, and tough greens. 2 of the birdies were legit, and one was net. Should have been a net eagle as I missed a 4 footer for birdie.
