I'm actually in the market for a magnetic non-standard mallet putter headcover. The velcro Sub70 one that came with the putter has been frustrating me lately. Any brands you recommend or does anyone have any they recommend?

What kind of design/theme are you looking for, and what price range? I have a way too large collection that's brand agnostic, so based on that might be able to make some decent recommendations.

A couple reasonable-priced options with a solid range of wild to classic designs: I'd recommend checking eBay or Mullie for older designs from Patrick Gibbons / American Flatsticks -- good quality with some really cool designs, and the market is way down on those brands (used to be a high after-market price tag, and tons of people kept them in new condition for resale, but they're offloading them in the $50-60 range now, sometimes less). Same with Hole9Design (now Rocket) - if you're into Pop Culture / 90s references, they could be a good option (quality not as high, but still good, probably more in the $30-40 range outside of their TMNT designs).

Dormie is also great quality with quite a few "in stock" designs (might be made to order, depending on design) and also allows a custom option, but they're in the $100-$150 range for stock.

Driver: :taylormade-small: Stealth Plus 8* (adjusted to 8.75*), Mitsubishi Diamana ZF 70 X Flex (New toy incoming!)

Fairway: :taylormade-small: Stealth2 Plus, 15* (adjusted to 14.25*) w/ Graphite Design Tour AD-IZ 7X

Irons:  :titleist-small: U505 1 Iron (16*), T200 "Utility Build" 3 and 4 irons, all with Graphite Design Tour AD-IZ 95 X Flex, :titleist-small: T100S 5-9 with Nippon Pro Modus 120 X Flex (2021 MGS Test). These things are monsters.

Wedges:  :vokey-small: SM9 46.10, 54.12, and 58.08, all with custom etchings & KBS Tour Masters-themed shafts, X-flex (CHA Post)

Putter: Total headcase and Putter Ho. Down to two main options in the rotation (one mallet, one blade), but have 4-5 by the basement putting green that might make it in the bag at some point this year... Mallet: :L.A.B.: Mezz XL 36" Orange; Blade: :L.A.B.: Link.1 w/Accra White shaft & :garsen: grip

I have the net. I want the putting green and chipping area. Ha. One, I hate mowing and watering the grass, and two, it's golf. Haha

lol, I see. I can’t take credit for the putting green because that was put in by a previous owner. It was for sure a selling point on the house though. A putting green in the Phoenix area is almost as much of a selling factor as a large garage.

Eh, maybe I was wrong - I just ran some searches, and there's not much on eBay for either of those brands, at least not for mallets (I've seen some come through their Facebook BST groups in that price range, but I thought there was a lot more on eBay).

The headcover market is wild. Most of the headcover-focused brands will be a bit higher than that price -- some of them worth it, some not (some are really good quality; others it's just chasing limited editions that might fall apart if used all year). If looking 50/under, and not wanting something that has a club brand on it, best best are probably places like Etsy (can be some surprisingly good stuff on there), eBay, or directly brands that you can find at big box stores and/or are popular directly in pro shops like CMC, PRG, etc. (or shop directly at Golf Galaxy/PGATSS or a pro shop / course's website). Even the specialty brands that were in the $40-50 range a couple years ago seem to be up in the $65-75 range now, with many pushing $100+.

Well, I did a thing. I've had these Recoil Prototype 125 F4 shafts for a while now, but no heads to build them with. I've been watching many on eBay that could have worked, but always thought they were a bit pricey. Especially the ones that came with shafts that I'd have to tear apart. But then I found the "Show us your Maltby" page and I found what I was looking for.

Maltby TS1-IM. I got the 6/8/9/PW at the moment, as the 5/7/GW were all sold out. So I picked up what I could for now and will await the rest come late May/early June. I'll also add the TSW DRM wedges for SW/LW.

Nice find.  I think you are going to be surprised at the performance of these beauties.  I have a combo set of the Maltby's (TS1/TS2) I purchased as used clubs that were in mint condition.  They are my second/back-up set of clubs and I'm still trying to dial in the distances, but they feel and perform very well.   Enjoy!!

I finally ordered my dream putter. Went to the golf store last night for my final putts with each model to make my expensive decision. Was debating a broom but the regular just felt great. The DF2 felt way better to me than the Df3 even though I’ll miss not having the ball pickup. Hopefully won’t need it sinking all the putts, haha!

Now waiting 5-6 weeks will feel like every eternity!

Just bought a set of Cleveland Launchers Halo, loving them so far but only played 1 round with them and still working on ranging them.  Making excellent contact though and going to range the full set tomorrow.  Ordered them last Friday and got them Saturday morning, was very impressed with the super fast service from where I ordered them.  The real test comes next week, off to Myrtle Beach on Sunday for 4 rounds at 4 (hopefully) great golf courses.  Playing The Pearl, Long Bay, Blackmoor and Myrtlewood Palmetto.  Would appreciate any insights anyone has on these courses.  Thanks, Kirk

Let's play another 18.  Kirk58

I'm a big fan of Cayce for premium headcovers that don't break the bank - I have one on my 3 wood that I love. Don't know that they have anything right now that fits your requirements, but they seem to regularly add stuff.

I've completely re-done my entire set twice in 3 years... I'm sticking with this one for a while! I HOPE! I can't afford anymore golf clubs, lol...

Started with old school Taylormade RAC OS from high school (2001-ish). Then went to Cobra F7s, which I liked, but broke the 9 and PW on the same day during a golf trip. I re-shafted them myself and traded them in for a Srixon ZX5 mk2 set. Loving them so far.

Had Titleist TS2 3 and 5 wood which I liked, but wanted something a bit faster. Tried the TSR3s but couldn't get on with them. Now am in Srixon ZX mk2 fairways... Hit them pretty well and are HOT off the face.

Current driver is an Epic Max LS, but just ordered the AI Smoke TD (comes in today!!). Excited to try it out on course. I've hit one a bunch on simulators.

Had a LAB DF2.1 armlock, but couldn't get on with that one... Switched to a Cobra Vintage Nova-40 with extra weight, and I'm putting much better now.

I have shafts out the wazoo in my garage. Seems I'm always tweaking something.

Perks of the industry. However small.

Still pretty damn awesome! If I could get the at home boss to approve the shoes I’d have bought them but uh would’ve been a hard sell lol

I’ve got a bad reeling about this

Ok all these headcover pics and questions reminded me I have an issue, although a lame one.

Was given this Limited Edition Team Srixon Blackout headcover since I play Srixon irons and balls. Do I dare distrub the golf gods and put it on my Ping 10k driver while on the course? Stupid I know, but I'm the type that still believes you don't talk about a no hitter while it's happening.
