Quite a day in college football. My Beavers lost as usual....The struggle for me was the Oregon Stanford game.  I despise Oregon football, but my daughter is a freshman and plays in the marching band, so the more the Ducks  win they better bowl game she will get to go to. 

 

I've been to Autzen this year and thought the Ducks were decent but didn't think they would be up to a Stanford matchup this early.  Stanford was flat and overwhelmed early but stayed the course.  I don't think Stanford is a #7 team after watching all of their games this year. They got very lucky last night. 

 

Im still not sure who I wanted to win.

Good.  They outplayed Oregon.  Now I'm hoping they've exhausted themselves for the upcoming match against the Irish.

What a finish to the Stanford-Oregon game! Then I switched over to see the A's win on a wild pitch in the bottom of the 9th to pull within 1.5 games of the Yankees for home field Wild Card.

 

Unfortunate for my neighbors son who is an Oregon alum and was visiting last night to watch the game.

I'll eat my own words here. Can't believe the made top 25, 17th to be exact. First time in the rankings since 2007. Probably won't last long, but a big achievement for a school not know for anything but basketball.

For many, football is the compensation for summer ending and winter approaching.

Ughh.  I hate the Penn State vs. Ohio State match-up - simply cannot pick one over the other.  Not the case for the ND vs.Stanford game... GO IRISH!!!

They look like s***... no sugar coating it. Absolutely terrible, stupid play calling, horrible refs, even more stupid play calling... not ready for a weak opponent on the road, and they expect to win a BIG 10 Championship... I see at least 2 more loses on the schedule, and that's being nice.

I always enjoy seeing the scores from the Alabama versus Chipmunk U in September. I also asked my buddy, who is a HUGE UGA fan how he enjoyed his BYE week this week. Always fun watching the creamsickles trying to play football. Even a cameo by Mr. Nationwide is on your side won't help that team learn how to play football.

 

Hmmm...Auburn vs. Southern Miss. Yeah, that outcome wasn't predetermined two years ago when they scheduled that game.

 

I somehow watched the FSU/Louisville game today. My post game thoughts are that Louisville is REALLY REALLY bad, if they lost to a REALLY bad FSU team. Those two teams will be scheduled as everyone else's homecoming game next year, if they weren't already. FSU did everything they could to let Louisville win that game, and then Louisville waited until the last part of the 4th quarter to say to FSU, "anything you can suck it, we can suck at worse," and literally gave FSU that game. I've seen bad games, and then I've seen BAAAAAAAAD games. Ugly sisters mud wrestling would be more appealing.

That's a big ten road game. Playing on the road even against teams that you should beat handily proves once again to be a difficult task. Need to be a little bit more prepared next time.

Ugh... not sure how to feel about Syracuse. Up 23-13 with 13 minutes to go only to lose a game that you were a 25 point dog on the road in the final minute. Seems a missed opportunity but still proud of the effort given.

Feels more and more rigged. They had timeouts... Not sure about that one.

Man, and we though Michigan's play calling was bad, 4th and 5 and basically the play that ends the game, and you just hand the ball off on a straight run off right tackle when Ohio state has 8 guys standing on the line of scrimmage. C'mon man, that can't be the best you got. Of course this is after you blow a big lead halfway through the 4th quarter

Yea boy, they turned Stanford's stadium upside down.  To be quite honest, with no TV coverage of the game and opting not to follow via internet, I went to bed thinking this would be the score... but with Stanford winning. This was definitely ND's season test.  Now I hope they don't do what many teams do after a big win. Go Irish!

I'm a proud UCF Knight alum and fan.

They stand a decent chance of going undefeated again this season. New coaching staff did not change the dynamic of the offense. Defense has some vulnerabilities. We will see how they fare against run heavy/option teams like Navy, Memphis, and USF. 

If they run the table again they should definitely get playoff consideration. I doubt the committee will give them their due though.

Alabama is looking like a runaway favorite for another title.

I was shocked Notre Dame made it look that easy last night.Great game too see live in South Bend.The crowd was very excited, but not over the top.Which was nice.Wish them the best rest of the season.They were in control of this game right from the start.The offense looked superb with Dexter Williams back and Ian book at the helm.And the defense man handled Love and company.Impressive is an understatement 

The Penn State - Ohio State Match up also shocked me.One team in the top 10’that is really faltering is Clemson.Im not seeing them stay up their the whole season

Not if Georgia has anything to say about it.  I think the Bulldogs are the best match-up to thwart yet another Tide celebration on January 7, 2019. I'd love to see ND there, but that's a moonshot.

I am glad ND isn’t a fraud, makes me feel better losing by 7 with pee poor officials. Still think Michigan isn’t a top 25 team though...
