1. Pick small targets off the tee. 2. Take an extra club on approaches and aim for the center of the green. 3. Remember it's a game, have fun!

Stick to that plan and I'm setting the weekend over/under at 87.

Seems like a fun track. Better hit it straight right? Looks like you could even play conservative off tee for many of the holes. 200y par 3s on the back is a tough look though.

I have only played at Pheasant Ridge once and it was years ago, so I dont remember a lot of the holes. I know I need to get my putting dialed in and my ball striking. I can hit the hybrid off the tee and get there in 2 on most holes, although I dont want to be too conservative.

Don't think conservative. When you think conservative people have a tendency to try and control the shot. Play your hybrid with an aggressive attitude/ swing. This is about course management and playing to a spot on the hole where you have the best chance to keep the ball in play and score well. Play the shots you can execute reliably.

Think of it like a military battle... every hole is an enemy and you need to form a plan of attack.  Commit, execute; next hole - new enemy.

I know a few (not many but a few) who want play with anyone not a low single digit or if they absolutely have to, it's obvious from their body language, they'd rather be getting a root canal.

Some of us still remember when we broke the 100 and 90 barriers and as single digits sometimes we still have trouble breaking some of those barriers today.

For me personally, the game is eternally frustrating; so no matter their respective skill level, it's always nice to see someone who has been putting in the work realize a just reward.

So glad I did made it yesterday, shot a 92 today on a new course whose greens were just brutal on me, still averaged a 2 putt per hole but they werent consistent at all. 

 

Seriously though thank you all for the positive thoughts and encouragement through this. It really meant a lot. I wish you all could have seen my reaction when the putt sank, two steps, double fist pumps scurried off the green and just jumped up like a big goof both arms up in the air.
