Solide round. 11/18 GIR and solid driving performance! However, I couldn’t putt to save my life, greens were fassst.

4-putted the 2nd hole, missed 2 putts under 3’, my 12’ eaglw putt burned the edge of the cup and 3-putted twice on the back nine for a total of 38 putts.

Had a clean round (no penalty) until not finding my 2nd shot in the left rough on the 18th hole par 5… Not in the woods, not in the trees, simple rough… This penalty stroke was though to swallow to say the least.

Just to make sure my clerical work is done I'm assuming that 25.4 index at the rating slope noted in the post come out to 21 strokes as a course handicap.

This round shall be dubbed “A Tale of Two Cities”. I was either hot or cold. Four birdies, one of which counts as a net eagle, but two doubles and a triple did me in. Just too many unforced errors tonight. Not gonna complain, it was a really good round. Just have to keep working to shore up those little mistakes. 

Hopefully this makes some good ham and eggs, maybe even steak and eggs, with my playing partner so we can avoid last place in our pool.

Day two of the club championship was going as planned for 12 holes.  Then on the 3rd shot of the Par 5 I forgot how to golf.  Flub chip, flub chip, chip, one putt.    That plus some bad luck (Two bad kicks that rolled directly behind trees and required lateral chips)  on 17 & 18 Oh well.

I played surprisingly well with a swollen right middle finger. I can't extend the finger, but holding the club was never a problem.  Plus, my group played Blue/White hybrid tees, which helped my lack of distance for the day.  77° Mostly Sunny with 16 mph SE gusts.  2 birdies, 1 DB.

I had such higher hopes for this round, but maintained my pattern of adding 10 strokes to the back nine.  I'd have been stoked with two 56s.  First time ever getting par on Hole 1, in regulation even!  Barely missed the birdie putt.  Of course I had to follow it up with a +5.  Otherwise, still had fun in the rain.  Ground was soft, got some mud on my ball, and my fat shots took 8" scalps.   

Putting was back in order, most of the missed putts were due to underestimating how slow uphill soggy greens can be.  Easy enough to correct, I have 6+ months of it to look forward to!  

P.S.  Oh, and the last three holes we played after dusk, so we used LED light up balls.  Not the longest flying, but we could find them.
