Some great scores there. Keep it up! I will be out there tomorrow trying to come close! How successful will I be?  Probably not quite as successful as you guys. But damn sure won’t keep me from getting out there and trying! Most enjoyable and humbling sport I have ever competed in!
Great job!!
Keep em straight! ⛳🏌️

EP, The best way to post two 9 hole scores would be to combine them external to the "post score" form and enter one 18 hole score into the "post score" form.  Because you posted a 9 hole Gross score, but an 18 hole course handicap, it calculated your net score incorrectly, essentially giving you 50 strokes across the 18 holes played.  Also you have two entries on the leaderboard for each 9 hole score, but the leaderboard is designed for 18 hole scores.

If you would like, I can edit your post to combine the two, or you can.  Just let me know if you have questions or if I can help 🙂

I knew help would be coming and just as in Season One I had an idea your kind way of guiding would set me straight.  I will be certain to do that next week and this format looks like it is much more manageable than the one used before.

Yes please!  Please make the adjustments to what I have made a mess of.  I will look ahead to next week and my new 'regular' course for this year's 'regular' play and combining 9 hole scores when necessary going forward 👍 Last thing I want to do is make more work for you or any Mod as our Mods are really the best anywhere ⛳

Reasonable ball striking round but couldn’t adjust to slow post coring greens. 5 three putts after not being able to get the ball to the hole. Weather was a bit ugly, consistent showers but at least the wind wasn’t too bad

New G430 Max! I play so rarely, and we all know who has been gobbling-up the long drives each week and it isn’t me! Still one more day for me to get beat!!!

By-the-way, anyone know where a guy can get a new lower portion for his back???

Your drive was legit, mine was on a very nice, hard/flat fairway here in the Mississippi Delta! If I played anywhere with ANY undulation and irrigation it would’ve been 290!!!

Up and down round today. Started off slow with bogey bogey, but then got it going.
WINS: 27 putts, 2/2 sand saves, driving it long (course is not soaked), 14 GIRs, had a turkey after a double
LOSSES: Had a one putt double bogey from 43 yards 😳. Drove it over the corner on a short par 4 and tried a hero shot that I rinsed, left the next one short in the bunker. Sand save double…
AH HAS: Take your medicine even when it’s a casual round

Whirlwind of a day here. First hole, storm rolled in but we continued on. A good bit of thunder but no strikes, had multiple groups riding back to the clubhouse but we charged on! Par'd the first hole, nothing was going to stop me now. At the Second hole the rain started dropping but it wasn't bad so we tee'd off and kept going. Right as we chipped on to the green the sky just opened up and was pelting us with ice cold rain, finished with a triple on that one ha! Couple of us mentioned going back but right as we said that it let up so we trekked on. Couple holes later rain picked up again, but not as bad. That was the trend for the Front 9. Hit well, collapsed on 2 and 3 but pulled it together at 4. On Hole 7 Par 3 , I sliced my 8 iron bad and ended up about 20-30 feet from a tree that was directly in line to the hole (See pic), I will never know how I got this to stick but I grabbed my AW and just told myself hit it high and it flew! Dropped within 5 feet. (Missed the putt unbelievably with a very cruel lip.)

Par3Roughcopy-2.jpg.f9f7922d6a86559c345a6c0c59bcc13b.jpg

At hole 9 I crushed my drive and then smashed my 3 hybrid to get onto the backside of the green at a par 5 in 2! I was stoked, my putting has been on fire, and now I was putting for my first Eagle! Totally botched the read on the first putt at about 25 feet out. Birdie putt was great, but a little fast and it lipped it again! Ended with a par, that one stung a bit.

At the turn the sun came and so did the humidity. Not too bad, hit 50 on the Back 9, and had 2 pars. Hole 17 was a beaut as well, drive landed in a long fairway bunker and I decided to risk it and hit the hybrid out of it. Clean hit, had a slice but curled right to the green, felt amazing. Then Hole 18 was a train wreck, so like I said, total whirlwind yesterday ha. The only thing keeping me under 100 were Par-ing 5 holes which felt great and lessened the sting of a missed Eagle/Birdie opportunity.

Rain or shine, I'll finish my round!

Day 1 of Spring Blitz at my old club, Plantation Palms. Shot a 42/43:85 with +3 on my 21 point quota. That put me tied for 2nd place out of 41 players. Was surprised to play this well as have not played here in 4 months. Struck the ball very well but putting was an issue, especially putting inside of 6’.  We will see how tomorrow goes….

Beautiful windy day. 20 mph with 30+ mph gusts. Very solid ball striking all day. 11/14 Fairways, 9/18 GIR 26 putts. I bagged the Vokey wedges today and made some good up and downs.

Nothing spectacular and nothing horrible. Other than 1 double bogey on the par 3 9th. Just 100 yards today. But an island green with a 30 mph cross wind is tough.

While I’m more comfortable playing the shorter tees than 2 weeks ago, I’m not sure it is worth it. I give up 3 strokes and it really only makes a big difference on 1 hole. I play the shorter tees if all the others in my group play them. If someone else plays the others, I’ll move back.

It’s worth noting that the 6 strokes difference between yesterday and today had nothing to do with the tees I played. It was strictly wedge play. I ran into similar trouble on the same holes today. Holes 5-9. Yesterday, I had 1 bogey and 4 doubles. Today I had 2 pars, 2 bogeys that I just lipped out the par putts and a double.

Handicap went up with this last revision of GHIN.  Posting scores in the 80's doesn't help.  Greens were better than they have been and rolling faster, probably due to the Chapman tournament in front of our group.

Only one double and one birdie where I stuffed a LW.  I should do that more rather than trying to make a putt on these punched greens!  😂

Found an opening at my club to get 18 in this afternoon.  It was warm and humid today after the lightning and thunder storm early this morning.  The fairways and greens were a little softer than I am used to, but the course is in great shape.

They had the Men's Club Championship, Day 1 today, I wasn't able to play in the event for personal reasons, but, I was able to play the tourney setup... they had some nasty pins today!!

Longest drive was 268

On 15 (Par 5) I hit a good drive down the middle, then flushed a 3 wood to.the right side of the fairway to 95 yards.  This was the result of my flighted 50* :

And then the result of my putt:

Any consideration to allow 9-hole scores to be adapted for the competition? With my work schedule I can’t get out more than once a week, and rarely for long enough to play a full 18.
I’m thinking something like take your 9-hole score and multiply by 2.1, and no multiplication factor for net birdies. So for example my 9-hole gross 44 today with 3 net birdies would count as a gross 92, still with 3 net birdies.
Would allow people to post a weekly score when they could only get out for 9, but would give a distinct advantage to 18-hole scores.
Apologies if this was discussed last season and I missed it.

I understand your plight Gavinski.  I would be more willing to accept 9 hole rounds that stretch across two weeks... that way it is actually 18 holes of golf being played and scored to the leaderboard.  That may work better for you and your available golf time.  I initially said that 9 hole scores needed to be played in the same week... but if that is excluding you and others from participating in the completion, I'm open to revising that comment

Your Comment also gives me an idea about doing some sort of 9 hole league that runs separately than the Weekly VCT.  Sometimes a 9 after a long day of work is all many of us have time for, so that might be a fun alternative.

Approach and short game were still off. I feel like I’m slowly getting back into my groove but I still feel like I’m not quite back to where I was.

Today was good! The wind was a menace and anytime it was coming across the hole, I struggled to compensate enough. The driver kept getting me in trouble. It forced me to have to be a lot more aggressive on my 2nd shot. Putts were falling when I needed them to and were working out great when I was left with a long putt.

702BB088-88C8-4861-B37B-8737374C04C1.png.53f8c310b5b4a8aa6d8f34adfccd7f93.png

Highlights:

Huge drives with the wind behind me. I tried so hard to not over swing or get too excited and mess it up. I had 2 opportunities for long drive holes today. #6 I caught it a bit towards the toe and got 316. I think I got a weird bounce too since I hit it left to right but found it on the left side of the fairway.

#17 I smashed it out of the center for 333. What was awesome is that the guy I was paired with nailed his drive too. He got me by about 5 yards. I was able to beat him out on the wedge shot though. I dropped it 3 feet from the pin to tap in for birdie.

I saved the best highlight for last: Eagle! I hit a pretty bad drive to be honest. Any other day, I should have been OB and lost in the neighborhood. Fortunately, the wind was so strong out of the North that it pushed my ball back in play before it landed. I didn’t feel comfortable trying to get over the trees with a wedge since the wind would probably send me over the green. I decided to go with a little bump and run kind of shot with my 9. Got it over the cart path and it started running. As I watch the ball start to slowly crawl up the green, I heard it tap the pin and fall in! It’s weird, I think I hit the pin 3 times today. My chips and pitches were doing so awesome.

(not sure why my app doesn’t show the 9i shot to the pin but this is my eagle hole)

First round with the new Ping clubs… G430 Max the way it’s built is an absolute beast, so straight, and long! Played with AVX and really liked it, so Ballnamic made a great recommendation! 1F4F8CF8-ED77-4BE4-B08A-58752C0C1D9D.jpeg.8d5aecb7ee5d383d15bc1f80932dd860.jpeg4E141EBB-E195-482B-9296-12CE45ED2C67.jpeg.ff6e1c4ca0b898a28daad72d59e51723.jpegD9DBD4B0-5B0E-4E8A-A6A3-6D2315A68F38.png.36acda85080cea1880321c96119f2e91.png
