Yes, I'm quoting my post from Tuesday.

I played a new-to-me course this afternoon and shot a 40/37 = 77 (+6). Not that it really matters, they had everyone going off the back today, so the front was actually the better 9. MILESTONE ALERT - first time I've broken 80 ( @GolfSpy_APH, can I get that Broke 80 badge please?). I've had a few 80's and 81's.

I putted out of my mind on the second 9. I had 12 putts even with a 3-putt on the last hole. A chip in par helped and five 8-10 footers made for pars. I also made ~25 footer for birdie. Driver was mostly steady all day long. A couple bad swings but the holes I did it on were not terribly penal to do that.

Our area is in dire need of some rain and many of the mid-tier munis are really dry - mid-August bounces and rolls. It is really good for the ego, though, especially when I am hitting driver well. I had 4 drives that were in the 284 - 296 range. Most importantly, the last hole was great. I stood there knowing I could have a bit of a blow-up and still break 80, but there were still some nerves - my big miss is right and there was OB right. Focused on positive thoughts and piped it 285 up the hill to the right center of the fairway.

Tale of the tape, according to Arccos.

Great job!  Way to put some Red A$$ on that 80 barrier!!  Now it gets easier and happens more often.

9 holes at Colonial Terrace I had 3 pars 3 bogeys 2 doubles and an eagle on #7 was the day's highlight. 195y drive followed by 202y 3w. Rolled up to within 8' and the eagle putt rolled straight in. Finished +3 on 8 and 9 to miss breaking 40 which was the goal, but shot right at 40 with 14 putts (1st round with 50g counterweight in my putter and I thought I putted better..placebo?)

I’ve been rolling along averaging my usual low to mid 80’s, and out of the blue I shoot a 36-36-72 yesterday on my home course, my best round ever after 59 years playing golf.  Absolutely no explanation as to why. It was with my favorite regular Friday foursome, so that was a nice bonus. My previous best was a 73 when I was 19 yo, 50 years ago - I assumed I’d never match that again? And I’m sure my next round will be average…

I sucked, 44/47 91. Just couldn't hit the ball. Could be from all the physical labour I've done in the last two weeks around the house for my "vacation".

Today was a significant improvement from prior weeks. 1 over for 18, at a little 9 holer in Pinehurst area. The last time I played it, I was 16 over.

When my wife asked if I wanted to leave Maine and move to where she grew up, I couldn't say no to Pinehurst, NC. I honestly don't spend much money on golf equipment, but I'm constantly reading reviews in case I ever get ready to buy

I swing left handed and have been the State of Maine Left Hander's champion since 1997, the last year they held the tournament. I'm currently a 7.1 handicap. Trying to get lower, but my gut gets in the way.

It's "volunteer week" at work so I spent 4 hours repairing/refurbishing bikes for needy before the round. I was afraid throwing bikes around would have a similar effect and I'd be lying if I said my back wasn't getting tight the last few holes.

Got out for a round with my nephew this afternoon.IMG_0706.jpeg.bfa673544e2338e653aafedb3a0809c9.jpeg

Played well, 38/37 +4 75

I’ll go into a bit more detail on the putting in the Garsen MAX  grip testing thread, but I drove the ball really well today. Multiple 300 yd drives that went where I was aiming. I don’t want to say this is a trend, but this is the second round in a row where I hit the driver well and it makes me happy, so that is enough.

IMG_0709.png.15d396b0b84f476c9086ceab93a2c139.png

If this keeps up I’ll be threaten 70 by the end of the summer!

That's funny, I shot the same 38-37 today for 75 but mine was at a par 60 executive. Still, when I say I shot 75 I sound good, lol. Don't have to mention the course rating or gross score to par.

That's funny, I shot the same 38-37 today for 75 but mine was at a par 60 executive. Still, when I say I shot 75 I sound good, lol. Don't have to mention the course rating or gross score to par.

That is absolutely correct. 😜

Playing a hilly course today with the speedy greens

Got paired with 3 guys who were excellent putters.
It was pleasure to watch them roll the ball

i say 90% of the strangers I play with hit their balls to the hole generally poor putters

These guys had fine touch and had s solid long game too

Sometimes it’s good to watch and learn

I was invited to a golf society competition at the lovely Rothbury golf club yesterday. I had 14 birdie putts, made 2 from three feet each, three putted once, lost a ball (it was never a driver tee shot for me but I was still a bit steamed after three putting number 3) and shot three over to lose the visitors prize on a back nine count back. Hit it so well but the putting is showing the effects of three weeks off!

Interesting - me?

Hit 104 today on a 72 course. Managed two pars, and best of all beat my all time best drive, 336 yards off the tee!!! Still ended up three putting, but hey was flying high off that 😂😂

Meh. My swing has left me. Still scoring OK at times, but outside of a couple solid 9s there has been nothing good to talk about. My driver, which had been phenomenal until recently, is now nothing but low and left. Irons, too.

My putter has been really pretty solid though, so trying to look on the bright side. But this has to be the worst swing funk I've ever been in.

1st. round of the Mission Amateur is in the books... I shot 1 under 70 and am tied with 3 other golfers for the lead, our foursome today is 3 other golfers from the Mission Club, which in my memory hasn't happened before, should be a lot of fun. There is a group of chasers in the second to last group too so very very competitive.

Had a journey today….

7:30 tee time, but I got going early enough to warm up and putt..except I forgot my putter at home. So the pro shop had either a 1980s McGregor that was only about 4 inches too long, or a center shaded mallet. (I use a anser style putter that’s cut down to 31). I chose the mallet because it was 33 inches and i hoped I could practice and figure it out. Well I couldn’t haha. Played 9 holes and 3 putted 4/9, and had 2 others where the first ‘putt’ was on the fringe.

On top of that, the tungsten weight glued to my ping g400 lst fell off again on the 2nd hole. I hit 0 fairways today. Not sure what I should do about that. First time it took Ping months to fix it.

5/9 GIR though, so I got that going for me. Memorable 44, that’s for sure.

Oh, and I left my water bottle at home. Is there sone sacrifice I forgot to make?

Maybe a little break (refresh and reset) and then back at your routine may help clear up the current issues and concerns.

Here's hoping it gets better sooner than later.
