Recently got two new fairways through trade-in promotions/discounts - the new Big Bertha 3 wood and the Stealth 2 HD 5 wood.  If I like one more than the other I'll switch it out so both woods match, but I may just keep the "mixed set".  So far I really like the Big Bertha but haven't taken the HD out yet.

Earlier this month I was fitted, and my club submitted an order for Ping 430 Max 5h, 7w, and what they offered a ps a 4w (5w head with -1* loft and 3w shaft).  I got them all with their Alta CB SR shaft.  Was told last week they were scheduled to ship on the 25th.  

This past Tuesday, I had oral surgery for the removal of 2 wisdom teeth.  I’m only 70 yo.  and thought they’d last thru middle age!  Wed morning my club called and said the clubs arrived, so tWife went to pick them up so I could stare at them as I recover.  Going to visit my dau the next 2 days so later on Sat I’ll be able to hit them for the first time and combine them with my new JPX923 HM irons.  The only clubs missing are the 2 Cleveland RTX6 52* and 56* wedges with Recoil 760EXS shafts - am told they won’t be here until mid Sep.

My newest, I gave my son my 56 CBX Zipcore and I replaced it with this TaylorMade Hi-Toe 3 in 56. Due to rain only 1 session off th matts at the range but I used it as my warmup iron and with my "wedge" swing all shots between 69-72 yards per trackman with hop and stop so if it transfers to grass I will be very happy.

Went through several manufacturer fittings through spring and early summer to try out new Irons, just placed my order for Titleist T300's with Project X LZ shafts.  They are saying 2 weeks, but hopefully a little sooner.  Excited to move on from my Callaway X forged into something both more forgiving and actually fit to me.

Just got fitted from TrueSpecGolf on Saturday. Loved the fitting process as it was my first time getting fitted. I knew i needed new clubs as my swing speed has gotten too fast for my current set. Ended up with over 120 mph club head speed on the driver which shocked me as i had an idea of 110-115 was my estimate from a friends sim. Did a full bag fitting and got recommended the following clubs Cobra Aerojet LS 9.0 in a Ventus Black TR 6X, a 3 wood and 5 wood both Aerojet LS in Ventus Blue TR 7X and JPX 923 Forged 5-PW in a Project X 6.5 Didnt have time for the wedges but was told to try and bend my 52 into a 50. I ended up finding the recommended clubs cheaper online instead of buying it from TrueSpec. I swapped out the irons for Sub 70 699 Pro v2 as it was much cheaper to get plus being ranked higher according to MyGolfSpy. Cannot wait to try these on the course when they come in. Also a plus is i get them 2-3 weeks earlier since i dont need TrueSpec to build them for me!

I'm currently comparing the regular 699 V2s vs the regular JPX 923 Hot Metals - and (despite MGS Head to Head #s) leaning heavily towards the Sub 70s.

I didnt get to test Sub 70 at all, i had a thought going in i was going to buy them cause the price of irons are just so much. It was between the 923 forged and the cobra Forged Tec but the fitter said JPX was better cause i spun it a little more.

Picked up a couple new patterns from BAK9 - played in a tournament with one of the owners a couple years ago, decided to try a couple, and now they're one of my go-to brands when I opt for a "nicer" polo (i.e. not the wilder patterns). The one on the left is my favorite of their designs (the Texas Scramble LSX). He made it sound like they were going to test and release new patterns often, and it's kinda unfortunate that hasn't really happened, but what they do have is still pretty solid.

Pictured with the newest addition to the Kenny Powers collection -- a Mermen 3W, which I picked up specially for the annual Myrtle Father/Son trip (which just happened this past week).

Bought a dozen Uther Pro Icon balls at DSG, 25% off brought them to $30 a dozen. 

I had been thinking about how during the testing for Oncore Elixir I set numerous personal bests while using fresh balls. The past 5-10 rounds have been with balls from my shag collection: TM tp5, TA titanium, superhot, superfast, tour speed, AVX, slazenger raw distance, maxfli X cg, e12, e9, and a bunch of others. The running theme was I was hitting someone else's ball that they already hit in the woods.

Today I hit the ball great and shot 80 using the fresh supply. Anecdotal yes, but also empirical.

I don't know how many do this, but I've kind of become addicted to GolfEtail deals.  (don't tell my wife)  The Greg Norman Mystery Box golf shirts.  Usually it's 2 shirts for $26.00.  I've actually gotten 3 mystery boxes this year.  It's kind of fun seeing what they'll throw in.  Plus, it gives me more shirts for work, too.

Just picked up the Ventus Blue TR. If you're someone who swings hard but doesn't wanna have to swing out of their shoes to keep up with a shaft; this one is for you. I can run upwards of 120 swing speed if I have just the right stretch in the morning, but a nice smooth swing keeps me in the 110s. This shaft is the perfect blend of a very stiff butt section reminiscent of the Ventus Black, but still some kick towards the tip that feels controlled and doesn't feel like a piece of plywood. If you're someone who is worried about the Ventus Black or Black TR making you feel like you have to muscle up max effort on every swing just to keep up, the Blue TR would be perfect for you. I switched from a Project X HZRDUS PVD Green Smoke and my dispersion has grown slightly tighter. I'd recommend this shaft to anyone who swings 105 to 115+ and wants a stiffer shaft that still has some control in the tip.
