Wild swing in scoring from front to back.  With my Gunga Galunga golf glove in play on the front I was unfortunately channeling Carl Spackler and limped around with a 42.  The back I was channeling the Big Hitter himself, the grace, the awe, the flowing robes....striking!!  And managed to card a 35 for a total of 77 gross.

Par 3's tonight were an abomination.  I was hitting 2nd shots from places I had never seen before!  The highlights were a couple 20' birdie putts that dropped confirming the metaphysical influence of a higher power at work!

The 1st hole was a bit of a teaser on what I felt my round might look like with a birdie look that burned the edge … and how it was my only good look all round. Only then to follow it up with a triple on the 2nd hole. 

While my FIR was at 29%, I was driving the ball very well from a distance standpoint and was just missing the fairways.

The winds were angry yesterday. 

I played well though not as well I had hoped. 

On the hardest 4 holes I was hitting into the wind(which is normal but not this aggressive.  It was unforgiving and was requiring a 2 club difference between actual yardage and playing yardage.  

A nice birdie on 10 was uplifting but my only hole in the red on gross scores.

Got an early morning round in Wednesday.  After the thrashing I took on Day 1 of the mens club championship, I was eager to get some GOOD golf in.  The round started really slow but I am making strides to improve my game.  Best tee shot of the day was #4 500 yard par 5 slightly uphill a little breeze in the face (helped promote the draw) and 285 later I was on the left side of the fairway...Best save of the day was the par 3 14th.  Playing about 175 today elevated tee to elevated green, normally the set up bothers me on this hole and I mess it up somehow, hit a smooth 7 iron into the green, flushed it over and just left of the green.  Crazy sidehill/downhill lie in the cabbage.  green slopes away, slid my 57º just right came out a bit soft but had about 8' to save. downhill putt with about 18" of break and caught it center cup.  One day I will get 18 consecutive holes in without a brain fart...

I was supposed to be on the Match Play DL after a long weekend of volunteering at our local Rotary Brewfest.  There's something wrong when a 67 year old has to move 1000 pounds of ice over a beach and stand for 6 hours.  Needless to say, my hip was bothering me so we called in a sub this week's Match Play event.

I woke up yesterday, felt OK, downed a bunch of Advil and headed to the course.  To my surprise, I shot the best I've done in months.

The good:  8 up and downs during the round.   That's probably the most I've ever had.  I also had a chip in birdie on 17 after chipping close all day.   86% of the fairways wasn't bad either. 

The bad:  The scorecard shows 27 putts, but I had two holes with 3 putts which is very uncommon for me.
